Introduction About FOL 5MG TABLET
FOL Tablet is vitamin supplement, used in the management of anaemia caused by a folic acid deficiency in both adults and children, anaemia in pregnancy, anaemia, as a side effect from management with certain medicines, anaemia due to damaged red blood cells and in patients with sprue illness, pellagra, pernicious anaemia, gastrectomy or on kidney dialysis. FOL Tablet can also be given to women before and during pregnancy to manage spina bifida (an abnormality of the spine caused by a deficiency of folic acid) in babies. It contains Folic Acid as an active ingredient.
Folic acid is a vitamin B9 essential in the production and maintenance of new cells. It helps to form red blood cells. Thus, helps to manage anaemia.
Always take FOL Tablet as advised by the physician. Swallow the FOL Tablet as a whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the tablet.

Side Effects Of FOL 5MG TABLET
FOL Tablet may cause loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, upset stomach, bloating, flatulence, sleep disturbances, agitation, depression and worsening of the symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency in some individuals. Consult your doctor if you notice any such side effects while using FOL Tablet.
Safety Advice
- Always take FOL Tablet as advised by your physician
- Swallow the FOL Tablet as a whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the tablet. Your doctor will fix the correct dose and frequency for you based on your age, body weight and disease condition
- Do not use if you are allergic to any of its components
- FOL Tablet can be used in pregnant women, to manage anaemia
- Inform your doctor if you are a breastfeeding woman, before taking FOL Tablet
- It is not recommended if you have cancer (unless you have anaemia due to a deficiency of folic acid)
- It should be used with caution in patients with pernicious anaemia or vitamin B12 deficiency, a tumour, kidney failure and undergoing dialysis or are receiving a coronary stent in patients with heart diseases
- Inform your doctor on all the medicines you use, including prescription, over-the-counter medications and herbal supplements
