Uses of Itopride

Itopride is used in the treatment of gastrointestinal symptoms of functional dyspepsia (indigestion) and non-ulcer dyspepsia (bloating, upper abdominal pain, anorexia, heartburn, nausea and vomiting).

Itopride stops the activity of dopamine D2 receptor and increases acetylcholine (messenger in the nervous system) concentrations which accelerates gastric emptying, improves gastric movement and reduces nausea and vomiting.
