Introduction About NEFOSAR 30MG TABLET

NEFOSAR 30MG TABLET contains Nefopam which belongs to the group of medicines called Painkillers. It is used to relieve acute and chronic pain (pain after an operation, dental pain, joint or muscle pain, after an injury or pain caused by cancer).

NEFOSAR 30MG TABLET is not recommended for use if you have or had epilepsy (fits). NEFOSAR 30MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with severe liver, kidney disease and glaucoma. Consult your doctor before taking it.

NEFOSAR 30MG TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women, in children below 12 years of age. It should be used with caution in elderly patients. Contact your doctor before taking it.

The most common side effects of taking NEFOSAR 30MG TABLET are nausea, dizziness, light-headedness, feeling nervous and dry mouth. Contact your doctor if any of the symptoms worsen.

How NEFOSAR 30MG TABLET Works

NEFOSAR 30MG TABLET interrupts the pain messages being sent to the brain and it also stops pain messages being felt, in the brain. It does not stop the pain from happening, but you will not be able to feel the pain as much.

How to use NEFOSAR 30MG TABLET

Take NEFOSAR 30MG TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending on your age, body weight and disease condition. Do not stop taking this medicine without talking to your doctor.

Side Effects Of NEFOSAR 30MG TABLET

Common

  • nausea
  • feeling dizzy or lightheaded
  • feeling nervous, confused or shaky
  • a dry mouth
  • difficulty urination
  • seeing things that are not there (hallucinations)
  • numbness or tingling in your hands and feet

Rare

Stop taking NEFOSAR 30MG TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

  • symptoms of allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) include skin rash, swelling of the skin and soft tissue around the eyes, nose and throat with difficulty breathing (angioedema)
  • convulsions, tremor
  • coma

How To Manage Side Effects

Dizziness:

Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operating any machines while you are feeling dizzy. Contact your doctor if your dizziness did not improve.

Nausea:

Take NEFOSAR 30MG TABLET, with or just after a meal. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy food. Contact your doctor if your nausea did not improve.

NEFOSAR 30MG TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women. Contact your doctor before taking it.

Breastfeeding

NEFOSAR 30MG TABLETis not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking it.

Driving and Using Machines

Do not drive or operate heavy machinery if you feel drowsy after taking NEFOSAR 30MG TABLET.

Kidney

NEFOSAR 30MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease and may require dose adjustment. Consult your doctor before taking it.

Liver

NEFOSAR 30MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease and may require dose adjustment. Consult your doctor before taking it.

Allergy

Do not take NEFOSAR 30MG TABLET if you are allergic to Nefopam or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Heart Disease

NEFOSAR 30MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with heart disease. Consult your doctor before taking it.

Others

NEFOSAR 30MG TABLET is not recommended for use if you:

  • have or had epilepsy (fits)

Before taking NEFOSAR 30MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you:

  • have or had difficulty passing urine
  • have been diagnosed with glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye)
  • are scheduled for lab test

Use in paediatrics:

Interactions

A. Drug - Drug interactions:

Before taking NEFOSAR 30MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:

  • isocarboxazid, phenelzine, amitriptyline (medicines used to manage depression)
  • anticholinergics for relief of stomach cramps or spasms, overactive bladder and others) Ex. hyoscine butylbromide, propantheline bromide)
  • sympathomimetic agents Ex. pseudoephedrine (used to manage nasal congestion)
  • benzodiazepines (used to manage anxiety, panic attacks) Ex. alprazolam
  • opioids (used to manage severe pain) Ex.  morphine

Overdosage:

If you or anyone else accidentally take too much of NEFOSAR 30MG TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdose are fits, hallucinations, coma, agitation, tachycardia
