Introduction About NAVIONCE EYE DROPS

NAVIONCE EYE DROPS contains Bromfenac, which belongs to the group of medicines called Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It is used in adults for the management of postoperative inflammation and reduction of postoperative eye pain in patients who have undergone cataract surgery.

Cataract can be defined as a condition in which the lens of the eye becomes progressively opaque or cloudy. Symptoms include blurred vision, sensitivity to light/glare, poor night vision, seeing halos around lights, and double vision.

NAVIONCE EYE DROPS should be used with caution in patients having bleeding problems (Ex. haemophilia), rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, or eye problems (Ex. dry eye syndrome, corneal problems, repeated eye surgery in a short time). Do not wear contact lenses while using the medicine.

NAVIONCE EYE DROPS should not be used during the last three months of pregnancy, and your doctor may advise you to use this medicine only if needed. It can be used in breast-feeding women.

NAVIONCE EYE DROPS is not recommended for use in children and adolescents. There is no evidence of safety for NAVIONCE EYE DROPS in elderly patients above 65 years of age. Consult your doctor before using it.

The most common side effects of using NAVIONCE EYE DROPS are increased sensitivity of eyes to light, eye pain, and blurred vision. Consult your doctor if any of the side effects worsen.

NAVIONCE EYE DROPS effectively blocks the synthesis of certain substances involved in causing inflammation (prostaglandin). Hence reducing the pain and inflammation after the patient has undergone cataract surgery.

How to use NAVIONCE EYE DROPS

Use NAVIONCE EYE DROPS as advised by your physician. While using NAVIONCE EYE DROPS, tilt your head back and pull down your lower eyelid. Make sure you wash your hands and do not touch any surface while using it. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight, and disease condition.

Side Effects Of NAVIONCE EYE DROPS

Common

  • foreign body sensation in the eye
  • eye pain
  • eye discomfort in bright light (photophobia)
  • blurred vision

Uncommon

  • discomfort in the eye (redness, inflammation, eye discharge, itching, or irritation)
  • damage and inflammation of the surface of the eye
  • swelling or bleeding of the eyelid
  • moving spots before the eyes, which can indicate damage to the back of the eye (retina)
  • swelling of the face
  • cough
  • nose bleeding or runny nose

A. Drug-Drug interactions:

Before using NAVIONCE EYE DROPS, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines:

  • anti-coagulants (Ex. warfarin, clopidogrel, acetylsalicylic acid) (used to manage or manage blood clots)
  • topical steroids (Ex. cortisone) (used to manage various skin conditions)

Overdosage:

If you or anyone else accidentally uses or swallows too much of NAVIONCE EYE DROPS, rinse your eye with warm water or drink a glass of warm water if you swallow. Do not put in any more drops until it is time for your next regular dose. Consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
