It is used in the management of renal tubular acidosis with calcium stones and kidney stones (hypocitraturic calcium oxalate nephrolithiasis and uric acid lithiasis with or without calcium stones).
Renal tubular acidosis is a condition in which the kidneys do not remove acids from the blood into the urine as they usually should. Before taking K MAC SUGAR FREE WITH MIXED FRUIT FLAVOUR ORAL SOLUTION, your doctor might want you to take certain blood tests and ECG to understand your existing condition.

K MAC SUGAR FREE WITH MIXED FRUIT FLAVOUR ORAL SOLUTION works by reducing the kidney stone formation. Potassium citrate and magnesium citrate, causes the metabolism of absorbed citrate producing an alkaline load. In addition to raising urinary pH and citrate, this also increases urinary potassium and magnesium. In certain patients, potassium citrate causes a transient reduction in urinary calcium. These changes produce urine that is less helpful to the crystallization of stone-forming salts.
