Introduction About ELINA 10MG TABLET
ELINA 10MG TABLET contains Mizolastine which belongs to the group of medicines called Histamine Antagonists. ELINA 10MG TABLET is used to reduce symptoms of hay fever (allergic reaction to pollen) and other allergic reactions that cause irritation to the eyes and nose in affected individuals.
It is also used to reduce symptoms of urticaria, which is an itchy skin rash that occurs due to reaction to food, medicine, and/or other irritants in affected individuals.
ELINA 10MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Mizolastine. It is also not recommended for use in patients with liver problems, and/or heart problems (such as irregular heartbeat, slow heart rate). Before taking ELINA 10MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have diabetes, intolerance to certain sugars (such as lactose), and/or kidney problems (such as renal insufficiency).
ELINA 10MG TABLET is not recommended for use during pregnancy (especially in the first three months) which is also advised to be avoided in breastfeeding women since the medicine may pass through breastmilk.
ELINA 10MG TABLET should be used with caution in children and adolescents (aged 12 years and above) and is advised to be used with caution in elderly patients after consulting the doctor.
The most common side effects of taking ELINA 10MG TABLET are dry mouth, stomach pain, indigestion, nausea, diarrhea, headache, and/or dizziness. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsen.

How ELINA 10MG TABLET Works
ELINA 10MG TABLET works by blocking histamine (chemical responsible for causing allergic symptoms in the body) which helps to reduce occurrence of allergic symptoms associated with hay fever, other allergic reactions, and urticaria in affected individuals.
How to use ELINA 10MG TABLET
Take ELINA 10MG TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight, and disease condition.
Side Effects Of ELINA 10MG TABLET
Common
- dry mouth, stomach pain, indigestion, nausea, diarrhea
- headache, dizziness, drowsiness, lack of energy
- increased appetite (associated with weight gain)
Uncommon
- anxiety, depression
- low blood pressure, irregular/fast heart rate
- joint pain, muscle pain
Rare
Stop taking ELINA 10MG TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- signs of serious allergic reaction such as dizziness, swelling (of face, lips, tongue, throat), and/or difficulty in breathing
How To Manage Side Effects
Dry mouth:
Try to drink plenty of cold water and sip on cold unsweetened drinks and use lip balm if your lips are dry. Brush your teeth twice a day and use mouthwash. Consult and inform your doctor if the symptom gets worse.
Nausea:
Take ELINA 10MG TABLET with/just after a meal. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oil rich/spicy foods, sugary snacks and drinks. Avoid drinking too much liquid along with your meals, and drink slowly in between meals. Consult your doctor if the condition worsens.
Diarrhoea:
Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated. Try to avoid taking any medicine on your own to manage diarrhea. Consult and inform your doctor if the symptom worsens.
Headache:
If ELINA 10MG TABLET causes headache, then take rest and drink plenty of fluids. Try to avoid drinking alcohol. Ask your doctor to recommend a painkiller. Headaches should usually go away after the first week of taking ELINA 10MG TABLET. If it lasts more than a week or becomes severe, then consult and inform your doctor.
Dizziness:
Try to rest and get enough sleep. Try to avoid driving or operating any tools or machines while you feel dizzy. Limit consumption of alcohol, as it can aggravate dizziness. Consult and inform your doctor if the symptom worsens.

Pregnancy
ELINA 10MG TABLET is not recommended for use during pregnancy (especially in the first three months). Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

Breastfeeding
ELINA 10MG TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women as it may pass through breast milk. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

Driving and Using Machines
Do not drive or operate any machines if you feel sleepy after taking ELINA 10MG TABLET.

Alcohol
Do not consume alcohol while in management with ELINA 10MG TABLET.

Kidney
ELINA 10MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems such as renal insufficiency. Consult your doctor before taking ELINA 10MG TABLET.

Liver
ELINA 10MG TABLET is not recommended to use in patients with liver problems. Consult your doctor before taking ELINA 10MG TABLET.

Allergy
Do not take ELINA 10MG TABLET if you are allergic to Mizolastine, and/or any other ingredients of this medicine.

Heart Disease
ELINA 10MG TABLET is not recommended to use in patients with heart problems such as irregular heartbeat, slow heart rate. It is also not recommended for use in patients with abnormal ECG score. Consult your doctor before taking ELINA 10MG TABLET.
Others
Before taking ELINA 10MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you:
- have diabetes
- suffer from electrolyte imbalance
- have intolerance to certain sugars such as lactose
Use in Pediatrics:

Interactions
A. Drug-Drug interactions:
Before taking ELINA 10MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:
- macrolide antibiotics (medicines used to manage bacterial infections) (Ex. erythromycin, clarithromycin, azithromycin)
- medicines used to manage fungal infections such as imidazole (Ex. ketoconazole, fluconazole, itraconazole)
- cimetidine (used to manage stomach ulcers)
- ciclosporin (used as an immunosuppressant)
- nifedipine (used to manage high blood pressure/heart disease)
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of ELINA 10MG TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital to manage overdose symptoms.
