Betamethasone has anti-inflammatory, anti-pruritic, and vasoconstrictive properties; it works by activating natural substances in the skin to reduce swelling, redness, and itching. Salicylic acid acts as a keratolytic by causing the protein keratin (which makes up most of the outer skin structure) to soften.

This helps remove dry, scaly skin easily by helping to loosen it. Zinc oxide acts as an antiseptic, an emollient, and a skin protectant. It works by creating a physical barrier that protects the skin from irritants and improves skin repair.
