Introduction About CYCLOBREX CP SUSPENSION
CYCLOBREX CP SUSPENSION is a combination of Camylofin and Paracetamol which belongs to the group of medicines called Antispasmodics, Analgesic, and Antipyretic respectively. It is used in the management of abdominal pain and spasm associated with Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), spasms associated with diarrhea and dysentery, renal colic (pain when the stone gets stuck in the urinary tract causing painful, bloody, or cloudy urination), biliary colic (pain in the abdomen due to obstruction by stones in the bile duct), intestinal colic (cramp-like pain in the small or large intestine) and dysmenorrhea (period or menstrual cramps around the abdomen, hips, lower back).
Having a fiber-rich diet, keeping yourself hydrated, and quitting smoking and alcohol will help in the management process. Prior to the management, your doctor might want you to take certain blood tests.
Avoid smoking and consumption of alcohol during this management. CYCLOBREX CP SUSPENSION is not recommended for use in patients who have narrow-angle glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy, mechanical stenoses, megacolon, GI haemorrhage, tachyarrhythmia, porphyria, and urinary retention.
Before taking CYCLOBREX CP SUSPENSION inform your doctor if you have paralytic ileus, ulcerative colitis, pyloric stenosis, thyrotoxicosis, obstructive lung disease, liver problems, kidney problems, heart problems, fever, and hypertension.
CYCLOBREX CP SUSPENSION is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women. CYCLOBREX CP SUSPENSION is not recommended for use in children and adolescents below 12 years of age.
In elderly patients it should be used with caution above 65 years of age. The most common side effects of taking CYCLOBREX CP SUSPENSION are nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, dry mouth, giddiness, dilated pupil, skin rash, and fast heartbeat. Consult your doctor for advice if above side effects do not improve.

It is used to manage:
- irritable bowel syndrome

How CYCLOBREX CP SUSPENSION Works
CYCLOBREX CP SUSPENSION works by relieving muscle cramps and pain in which Camylofin is an antispasmodic that relaxes the muscles in the stomach and intestine stopping sudden muscle contractions (spasms), thereby relieving cramps and pain. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and an antipyretic (fever reducer) that works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that causes fever and pain.
How to use CYCLOBREX CP SUSPENSION
Take CYCLOBREX CP SUSPENSION as advised by your physician. Shake well before use. Your physician will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending on your age, body weight, and disease condition.

Rare

- allergic reactions which include skin rash, itching, bruising, painful red areas, peeling or blistering, facial swelling, serious skin rashes including Stevens-Johnson syndrome and Lyell’s syndrome, swollen face, lips, hands, or fingers
How To Manage Side Effects
Nausea or Vomiting:
Take this medicine with meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating rich or spicy food. If the symptom does not show improvement, consult your doctor.
Warning & Precautions
Pregnancy
CYCLOBREX CP SUSPENSION is not recommended for use in pregnant women (more than 6 months) or women who are planning to become pregnant. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Breastfeeding
CYCLOBREX CP SUSPENSION is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking CYCLOBREX CP SUSPENSION.
Driving and Using Machines
Do not drive or use machines while taking CYCLOBREX CP SUSPENSION as it may cause dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue, and visual disturbances.
Alcohol
Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking CYCLOBREX CP SUSPENSION as it can increase the side effect of dizziness.
Kidney
CYCLOBREX CP SUSPENSION is not recommended for use in patients with kidney disease. Consult your doctor before taking.
Liver
CYCLOBREX CP SUSPENSION is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver disease. Consult your doctor before taking.
Allergy
Do not take CYCLOBREX CP SUSPENSION if you are allergic to Camylofin or Paracetamol or any other ingredients of this medicine.
Heart Disease
CYCLOBREX CP SUSPENSION is not recommended for use in patients who had tachyarrhythmia, mechanical stenosis, and other serious heart problems. CYCLOBREX CP SUSPENSION should be used with caution in patients with tachycardia, cardiac insufficiency, cardiac surgery, and high blood pressure. Consult your doctor before taking.
Others
CYCLOBREX CP SUSPENSION is not recommended for use if you:
- have narrow-angle glaucoma
- have a gastrointestinal disorder like peptic ulcer, bleeding stomach, or severe gastritis
- have prostatic hypertrophy
- have porphyria
- have urinary retention
Before taking CYCLOBREX CP SUSPENSION, inform your physician if you:
- have a thyroid gland problem
- have fever
- have paralytic ileus
- have ulcerative colitis
- have pyloric stenosis
Use in pediatrics:
There is no data establishing the safety and efficacy of CYCLOBREX CP SUSPENSION in children and adolescents below the age of 12 years. Consult your doctor before taking.
Use in geriatrics:
CYCLOBREX CP SUSPENSION should be used with caution in elderly patients above 65 years of age as they are more prone to side effects. The dose will be adjusted by the doctor. Consult your doctor before taking CYCLOBREX CP SUSPENSION.

A. Drug-Drug interactions:
Before taking CYCLOBREX CP SUSPENSION, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:
- antacids (Ex. aluminium hydroxide, magnesium carbonate)
- anticoagulant (Ex. warfarin, aspirin, clopidogrel, to manage clotting problems)
- antihistaminics (Ex. brompheniramine, chlorpheniramine)
- antidepressants (Ex. amitriptyline, paroxetine, imipramine, desipramine, and lithium)
- antipsychotics (Ex. phenothiazines)
- medicine used to manage heart problems (Ex. digoxin), steroids, heart rhythm problems (quinidine), manage high blood pressure (Ex. lisinopril, captopril, atenolol, ramipril, valsartan)
- opioid pain-relief medicine (Ex. pethidine)
- medicines used to manage cholesterol (Ex. statins)
- medicines used to manage gastroesophageal reflux disease (Ex. metochlopramide)
- antiemetics (Ex. domperidone)
- medicine used to manage HIV (Ex. zidovudine)
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally took too much of CYCLOBREX CP SUSPENSION, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms include dry mouth, difficulty in swallowing and talking, flushed and hot skin (especially over the face and neck), fever, difficulty in micturition, decreased bowel sounds, dilated pupil, photophobia, blurring of near vision, palpitation, and a scarlet rash may appear.
