Introduction About CYCLOBID SUSPENSION

CYCLOBID SUSPENSION is a combination of Dicyclomine, and Paracetamol which belongs to the group of medicines called Antispasmodics, Analgesic and Anti-pyretic respectively. It is used to manage functional bowel disease and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), intestinal colic, stomach cramps, infantile colic, renal and biliary colic, worm colic, non-specific abdominal pain, spasmodic dysmenorrhea as well as pain from gynaecologic or surgical conditions.

Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking CYCLOBID SUSPENSION, as it may increase the side effects. CYCLOBID SUSPENSION is not recommended in patients with unstable cardiovascular condition with acute haemorrhage, myasthenia gravis, glaucoma, obstructive uropathy, obstructive disease of the gastrointestinal tract, severe ulcerative colitis, reflux esophagitis.

CYCLOBID SUSPENSION should be used with caution in patients with asthma, liver disease, cirrhosis, kidney disease, hypertension, coronary heart disease, congestive heart failure, and cardiac tachyarrhythmia, psychosis, and delirium (such as elderly patients and/or in patients with mental illness), incomplete intestinal obstruction (small intestine partially or totally blocked).

CYCLOBID SUSPENSION should be also used with caution in patients with salmonella dysentery, ulcerative colitis (inflammatory bowel disease), prostatic hypertrophy (prostate gland enlargement), autonomic neuropathy (injury to the nerves that regulate automatic body functions), hypothyroidism, hiatal hernia, suffered from alcoholism, malnutrition, arthritis or must take painkillers often, infection, glucose-6-phosphatedehydrogenase deficiency, haemolytic anaemia (breakdown of red blood cells), bleeding problems.

CYCLOBID SUSPENSION should be used during pregnancy, if considered necessary. CYCLOBID SUSPENSION is not recommended for use by breastfeeding women and in infants less than 6 months of age. CYCLOBID SUSPENSION should be used with caution in elderly patients.

The most common side effects of taking CYCLOBID SUSPENSION are hypersensitivity reactions, dry mouth, upset stomach, vomiting, constipation and gas or bloating. Contact your doctor if any of the symptoms got worse.

  • antiglaucoma agents
  • other drugs with anticholinergic activity such as amantadine, antiarrhythmic agents of class I (Ex. quinidine), antihistamines, antipsychotic agents (Ex. phenothiazines), benzodiazepines, MAO inhibitors, narcotic analgesics (Ex. meperidine), nitrates and nitrites, tricyclic antidepressants, sympathomimetic drugs, and other medications with anticholinergic effects
  • digoxin (medicine used to manage heart failure)

  • metoclopramide or domperidone (medicine used to manage nausea and vomiting)

  • anticonvulsants (medicines used to manage epilepsy or fits)

Overdosage:

If you or anyone else accidentally take too much of CYCLOBID SUSPENSION, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Signs and symptoms of overdose may include headache, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, blurred vision, dilated pupils, hot, pale, dry skin, dizziness, dryness of the mouth, difficulty in swallowing, CNS stimulation including convulsion, muscular weakness.
