Introduction About BUSCODAC P TABLET
BUSCODAC P TABLET is a combination of Hyoscine Butyl bromide and Paracetamol which belongs to the group of medicines called Anticholinergics, Analgesics and Antipyretics respectively. It is used to relieve spasmodic pain such as pain and cramps in the muscles of the stomach (abdominal cramp), gut (intestine), bladder and urinary system.
Before taking BUSCODAC P TABLET, inform your doctor if you have a fast heart rate or other heart problems, problems with the thyroid gland, difficulty or pain in passing water (urine) such as men with prostate problems, constipation and fever.
BUSCODAC P TABLET is not recommended to use among pregnant and breastfeeding women. This medicine is not recommended for use in children (under 6 years of age) and it should be used with caution in elderly patients.
The most common side effects of taking BUSCODAC P TABLET are dry mouth, abnormal sweating and increased heart rate. Consult your doctor if any of the side effects worsen.

How BUSCODAC P TABLET Works
BUSCODAC P TABLET contains hyoscine butylbromide and paracetamol. Hyoscine butylbromide is an anticholinergic that works by relaxing the stomach and gut (intestine) muscles. It stops spasms (sudden muscle contractions), thereby relieving pain, cramps, bloating and discomfort. Paracetamol is an analgesic and antipyretic that works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain.
How to use BUSCODAC P TABLET
Take BUSCODAC P TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. The correct dose and duration will be decided by your doctor for you depending on your age, body weight and disease condition.
Side Effects Of BUSCODAC P TABLET
Common
- dry mouth
- abnormal or reduced sweating
- increased heart rate
- unable to pass urine
Rare
Stop taking BUSCODAC P TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- allergic reactions (such as skin reactions like nettle rash, itching, rash and redness of the skin)
- severe allergic reactions (anaphylactic shock) (symptoms like difficulty breathing, feeling faint or dizzy (shock)
- painful red eye with loss of vision
- unexplained stomach pain which persists or worsens or occurs along with fever, nausea, vomiting, changes in the bowel movements, abdominal tenderness, low blood pressure, feeling faint or blood in the bowel movement
How To Manage Side Effects
Dry mouth:
Sip water regularly and other sugar free liquids. Do not use mouthwashes that contain alcohol because they can make your mouth dry, use mouthwash that is used only for dry mouth. Limit your caffeine intake. Avoid smoking or using tobacco products. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.

Driving and Using Machines
Do not drive or operate any machines if you experience blurred vision after taking BUSCODAC P TABLET.

Alcohol
Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking BUSCODAC P TABLET.

Liver
BUSCODAC P TABLET should be used with caution if you have any liver problems. Consult your doctor before taking it.

Allergy
Do not take BUSCODAC P TABLET if you are allergic to Hyoscine and Paracetamol or any other ingredients of this medicine.

Heart Disease
BUSCODAC P TABLET should be used with caution if you have a very fast heart rate and other heart problems. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Others
BUSCODAC P TABLET is not recommended for use if you:
- have glaucoma (an eye problem)
- have myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness problem)
- have suspected or confirmed blockage of the bowel
- have a condition where the bowel is blocked and does not work properly (paralytic or obstructive ileus)
- have very enlarged bowel (megacolon)
Before taking BUSCODAC P TABLET, inform your doctor if you have:
- overactive thyroid gland (a problem with the thyroid gland)
- difficulty or pain to pass water (urine) such as men with prostate problems
- constipation
- fever
Use in pediatrics:
BUSCODAC P TABLET is not recommended for use in children (under 6 years of age). Consult your child’s doctor for advice.
Use in geriatrics:
BUSCODAC P TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Interactions
A. Drug-Drug interactions:
Before taking BUSCODAC P TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines:
- medicines used to manage depression (Ex. tetracyclic antidepressants or tricyclic antidepressants such as doxepin)
- medicines used to manage allergies and travel sickness (Ex. domperidone, ondansetron, cetirizine)
- medicines used to control heartbeat (Ex. quinidine or disopyramide)
- medicines used to manage severe mental illness (Ex. antipsychotics such as haloperidol or fluphenazine)
- medicines used to manage breathing problems (Ex. tiotropium, ipratropium or atropine-like medicines)
- medicine used to manage Parkinson’s disease and flu (Ex. amantadine)
- medicine used to manage nausea (Ex. metoclopramide)
- medicine used to thin the blood (Ex. warfarin)
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of BUSCODAC P TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Overdosage may cause liver problems.
