Introduction About BEMPESTA 180MG TABLET

BEMPESTA 180MG TABLET contains Bempedoic Acid which belongs to the group of medicines called Lipid lowering agents. It is used alone or together with cholesterol-lowering medicine (statins) to manage primary hypercholesterolaemia (condition in which blood cholesterol level rises above the normal limits) or mixed dyslipidaemia in adults when statins become intolerable to manage the condition in affected individuals.

Mixed dyslipidaemia is a condition that occurs due to elevations in low-density lipoprotein (LDL) (known as bad cholesterol) and triglyceride levels accompanied with low levels of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) (known as good cholesterol) which is generally characterized by the symptoms such as tightness/pain in chest, dizziness, and awareness of heartbeat (palpitation).

BEMPESTA 180MG TABLET is not recommended for use if you are allergic to bempedoic acid. It should be used with caution in patients with severe liver or kidney problems, and in patients with a history of gout (condition caused due to raised blood uric acid levels). It is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women, also, not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years) and it should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 75 years and above). Consult your doctor before taking BEMPESTA 180MG TABLET.

Before taking BEMPESTA 180MG TABLET, your doctor might advise you to take liver function test to assess your liver function. The most common side effects associated with the use of BEMPESTA 180MG TABLET are anaemia (lower number of red blood cells) and pain in shoulders, legs, or arms. Consult your doctor if any of the symptom worsens.
