Uses of Remogliflozin
Remogliflozin is used to treat type 2 diabetes when diet and exercise alone are insufficient to provide adequate glycaemic control in adult patients.
Therapeutic Category
Remogliflozin: Antidiabetic agents (Sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitors)
How Remogliflozin works
Remogliflozin helps in reducing blood glucose by increasing the excretion of glucose via urine. It does so by acting on certain proteins in the body which are responsible for the reabsorption of glucose from the kidney. Also, it inhibits the action of these proteins hence, stopping the reabsorption of glucose and increasing urinary glucose excretion, thus resulting in glycaemic control.
