Oxiconazole is used in the topical treatment of fungal skin infections (such as athlete’s foot, Jock itch, ringworm infection, pityriasis versicolor (small, discoloured patches on the skin).

How Oxiconazole works
Oxiconazole is an antifungal medication. It effectively controls fungal infections of the skin. It disrupts the fungal cell membrane by blocking the production of certain chemicals (ergosterol) within the cell which is required for its survival. As a result, it stops the fungal cell from multiplication, thereby preventing the further spread of infection.
