Uses of Glimepiride+Metformin+Voglibose

The combination of Glimepiride, Metformin and Voglibose is used in adults to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet, exercise and single agents/ second line therapy with two drugs are insufficient to adequately control blood sugar level.

How Glimepiride+Metformin+Voglibose works

Glimepiride + Metformin + Voglibose treats type 2 diabetes mellitus, where glimepiride lowers blood glucose level by increasing the amount of insulin released by the pancreas, metformin delays glucose absorption from intestines which results in low glucose production in liver thus increasing body’s response to restore insulin and voglibose prevents blood glucose level to raise high after meals by breaking down complex sugars into simple sugars (such as glucose) thus resulting in the control of blood glucose level due to type 2 diabetes mellitus in affected individuals.
