INTRODUCTION
ZYMOPAN contains Pancreatin which belongs to drug class known as digestive enzymes. It is used in the management of pancreatic insufficiency. Pancreatic insufficiency is a condition occurs when the pancreas does not make enough of a specific enzyme the body uses to digest food in the small intestine. Pancreas is a glandular organ which secretes juices that maintains the proper function of the body.
Pancreatin is a mixture of pancreatic enzymes such as amylases, lipases and proteases. It works to decrease fatty bowel movements and to improve nutrition by breaking down fats, proteins and starches from food into smaller substances that can be absorbed from the intestine.
Always take ZYMOPAN as prescribed by your doctor. Before taking, tell your doctor if you have any kidney, liver or heart diseases, are pregnant or breastfeeding. Your doctor will give the correct dose depends on your child’s age and body weight. The most common side effects are nausea, vomiting, abdominal distension and diarrhea. Take this medicine during or immediately after eating a meal or a snack with plenty of water. It helps the enzymes mix with the food so they can help digest it.
