Introduction About WHITOLYN DS OINTMENT

WHITOLYN DS Ointment is a keratolytic agent used to control dermatophyte infections (fungal infection affecting skin), palmoplantar keratoderma (skin thickening) on palms and soles and keratosis pilaris (red inflamed bumps).

It also helps in the management of bacterial skin infections, ringworms, burns, and skin irritation, itching, swelling and scaling caused due to allergic conditions. It contains benzoic acid and salicylic acid as the active ingredients.

Benzoic acid is an antimicrobial agent. It suppresses the ability of microorganisms to grow and multiply by altering their cell structure. This helps in management of further spread of infection. Salicylic acid is a keratolytic agent. It removes dry, scaly dead cells from the skin surface, leading to skin peeling followed by the formation of fresh, newer skin cells. Collectively, they control abnormal skin thickening, redness, swelling, irritation and inflammation.

Use WHITOLYN DS Ointment as advised by your physician. It is for external use only. Apply a small amount of WHITOLYN DS Ointment to the affected skin areas. Avoid contact of this ointment with your eyes, ears, nose or mouth. In case of accidental contact, wash it immediately with water.
