Introduction About VIDAGLO 50MG TABLET
VIDAGLO 50MG TABLET is used in adults to manage type 2 diabetes which helps to control the blood sugar levels when diet and exercise becomes insufficient to control the disease. It contains Vildagliptin which belongs to group of medicines called Oral Anti-diabetics.
Take VIDAGLO 50MG TABLET as advised by your physician. Do not crush or chew VIDAGLO 50MG TABLET. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water.
Along management with VIDAGLO 50MG TABLET, your doctor might advise you to follow the diet and/or exercise which is beneficial. Avoid consumption of alcohol because it might lead to low blood glucose levels. Before taking VIDAGLO 50MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you are on dialysis or have diabetic ketoacidosis (serious complication of diabetes), pancreatic disease, heart failure and liver or kidney disease.
VIDAGLO 50MG TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant and breast-feeding women, which is also not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years). It should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years and above).

- Cardiac drugs (such as captopril, enalapril, fosinopril)
- Simvastatin (used to reduce high cholesterol levels)
- Thiazides or other diuretics (medicines used to manage high blood pressure) Ex. chlorothiazide, chlorthalidone, hydrochlorothiazide
- Corticosteroids (used to manage inflammation) Ex. prednisolone
- Certain medicines affecting nervous system such as antidepressants Ex. clomipramine, amitriptyline
- Thyroid medicines (used to lower thyroid levels) Ex. levothyroxine

Overdosage symptoms of VIDAGLO 50MG TABLET are muscle pain, mild and transient paraesthesia (burning and prickling sensation in hands and legs), fever, oedema (swelling in arms and legs) and laboratory abnormalities such as transient increase in lipase levels, increases in creatine phosphokinase (CPK), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), C-reactive protein (CRP) and myoglobin levels.
