TAZRET 0.05/ GEL(TOPICAL) contains Tazarotene which belongs to the group of medicines called Retinoids. It is used to topically manage plaque psoriasis and acne vulgaris. Plaque psoriasis is a skin disease that causes dry, itchy, raised skin patches (plaques) covered with scales. Acne vulgaris is a common, usually self-limiting disease that causes inflammation of the sebaceous follicles of the face and upper body.

Before using TAZRET 0.05/ GEL(TOPICAL), inform your doctor if you have liver, kidney, or heart problems, eczema, or other skin problems. TAZRET 0.05/ GEL(TOPICAL) is not recommended for use among pregnant women. TAZRET 0.05/ GEL(TOPICAL) should be used with caution in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before using it.

It is not known if TAZRET 0.05/ GEL(TOPICAL) is safe and effective for use in children and adolescents under 12 years of age. TAZRET 0.05/ GEL(TOPICAL) for the management of acne has not been clinically evaluated in elderly patients (over 65 years).

The most common side effects of using TAZRET 0.05/ GEL(TOPICAL) are itching, burning, redness, worsening of psoriasis, irritation, skin pain, peeling, and dry skin. Contact your doctor if any of the symptoms worsen.

TAZRET 0.05/ GEL(TOPICAL) is converted to its active form, tazarotenic acid, that binds to all three members of the retinoic acid receptor (RAR) family (RARa, RARβ, and RARγ) and may modify gene expression.

Apply TAZRET 0.05/ GEL(TOPICAL) as advised by your physician. It is for external use only. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
