Introduction About SUPPOL CHILD 170MG SUPPOSITORY
Suppol Child Suppository is a painkiller and anti-pyretic medicine. It is used in children (aged 2-4 years) to provide instant relief from fever and pain of all origins. It contains paracetamol as an active ingredient to manage fever and pain in children, it is ideal when oral administration is inconvenient or not possible to take.
Suppol (Paracetamol Suppository) which ensures accurate dosage with no wastage. unlike suspension or syrup, Suppol suppsitory is the better alternative to injectable – no pricks, no pain. Suppol suppository can be administered easily even when the child is sleeping.
Paracetamol relieves pain by increasing the pain threshold by inhibiting certain enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2) involved in synthesis of chemicals responsible for inducing pain (prostaglandins). It reduces fever by directly acting on heat-regulating centers in the brain, resulting in vessel relaxation, sweating and loss of body heat.
Always administer Suppol Child Suppository to your child as advised by the physician. It is for rectal use only. Recommended dosage is 15mg/kg body weight in 4-6 divided doses and do not exceed 1 gm per dose and 60 mg/kg body weight in a day. For administration, gently push the suppository well up in to the rectum of your child. For grown up children suppository can be inserted in standing or sitting position. If needed, suppository can be moistened with water for easy insertion. Do not administer more than the recommended dosage as it may cause injury to the liver.
