Introduction About SPARK 200MG TABLET

SPARK 200MG TABLET contains Sparfloxacin, which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. It is used to manage community-acquired pneumonia, acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, other lower respiratory tract infections caused by susceptible bacteria, acute sinusitis gonococcal and non-gonococcal urethritis in males uncomplicated UTI skin soft tissue infections.

Inform your doctor if you had a severe sunburn while taking other medications that are known to cause photosensitivity. Avoid exposure to the sun and sunlamps even when indoors, as they can cause a phototoxic reaction. Phototoxic reactions can occur in patients exposed to shaded or diffused light, such as through glass or on cloudy days. Do not take this medicine if your daily activities or occupation entail sun exposure, or if you cannot suspend these activities as required for management.

It is not recommended for use in patients with a rare condition known as congenital prolongation of the QT interval or any heart disorders. Inform your doctor if you have kidney or urinary problems, a history of diarrhea, irritable bowel disease, or rare hereditary diseases such as congenital galactosemia, glucose or galactose malabsorption syndrome, or lactase deficiency.

SPARK 200MG TABLET is not recommended for use by pregnant or breastfeeding women. SPARK 200MG TABLET is not recommended for use by children. The most common side effects of taking SPARK 200MG TABLET include skin sensitivity to sunlight, diarrhea, nausea, headache, indigestion, dizziness, insomnia, abdominal pain, itching, altered taste, vomiting, and flatulence. Contact your doctor if any of the side effects worsen.

Uses Of SPARK 200MG TABLET

It is used to manage:

  • community acquired pneumonia
  • acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis
  • other lower respiratory tract infection caused by susceptible bacteria
  • acute sinusitis genococcal and non genococcal urethritis in males uncomplicated UTI skin soft tissue infections

How SPARK 200MG TABLET Works

Sparfloxacin belongs to an antibiotic which works by stopping the action of a bacterial enzyme called DNA-gyrase. This manages the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby working against them.

How to use SPARK 200MG TABLET

Take this medicine as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicines with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending on your age, body weight and disease condition.

How To Manage Side Effects

Diarrhoea:

Drink lots of fluids, such as water or fruit juices, to keep you hydrated. Do not take any medicine on your own to manage diarrhea. Contact your doctor if the symptom does not improve.

Stomach pain:

Rest and relax. Try to have smaller meals but take them more frequently. Keep a heating pad on your stomach. Do not self-manage and contact your doctor if the symptom does not improve.

Breastfeeding

Driving and Using Machines

Do not drive or operate any machines if you experience dizziness.

Allergy

Do not take SPARK 200MG TABLET if you are allergic to Sparfloxacin.

Heart Disease

Interactions

A. Drug-Drug interactions:

Inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:

  • medicines such as disopyramide, quinidine, procainamide, amiodarone or sotalol
  • diuretics such as furosemide and hydrochlorothiazide
  • cisapride, erythromycin
  • some antidepressants and antipsychotic drugs
  • antacids, sucralfate, multivitamins, supplements containing iron, zinc and calcium

Overdosage:

If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of SPARK 200MG TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
