SEPSADONE 10% OINTMENT contains Povidone-Iodine, which belongs to the group of medicines called Broad-spectrum antiseptics. SEPSADONE 10% OINTMENT is used as an antiseptic for the management of minor damage or infection of the skin. It kills harmful infection-causing microorganisms.

It also helps in the management of infection in burns, lacerations, cuts, and abrasions, management of common skin infections, and infection control following circumcision, suture removal, and dressing changes, degerming care of stasis ulcers, decubitus ulcers, and the umbilical area, and in other procedures where degerming is needed.

Before using SEPSADONE 10% OINTMENT, inform your doctor if you have any kind of allergies, if you currently have or have ever had a thyroid problem, if you are currently having lithium therapy for depression, if your skin is broken (for example, due to a burn), or if you currently have, or have ever had, a kidney problem.

SEPSADONE 10% OINTMENT should be used with caution among pregnant and breastfeeding women and the elderly. SEPSADONE 10% OINTMENT is not recommended for use in children less than 2 years of age. Once in the free form, iodine rapidly penetrates microbial cell membranes and interacts with important cell-forming components, like proteins, nucleotides, and fatty acids in the cytoplasm and cytoplasmic membrane and destroys them.
