Introduction About SALIPIC 12 OINTMENT
SALIPIC 12 OINTMENT contains Salicylic acid which belongs to the group of medicines called Keratolytic agents. SALIPIC 12 OINTMENT is used manage skin conditions such as psoriasis, dry, scaly skin conditions and acne. It is also used to manage dandruff, corn and calluses (thickened layers of skin) in affected individuals.
SALIPIC 12 OINTMENT is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Salicylic acid. It is also not recommended for use in patients with active inflammation/dermatitis, infection (at the application site), acute viral infection, skin malignancy, and/or tanned skin. Before applying SALIPIC 12 OINTMENT, inform your doctor if you are scheduled for surgery, and/or suffering from any kidney problems. SALIPIC 12 OINTMENT is generally not recommended for use in pregnant women. If you are a breastfeeding women, consult your doctor before using the medicine. Avoid applying the medicine on skin areas which might come in direct contact with infant’s skin.
SALIPIC 12 OINTMENT should be used with caution in children and adolescents (aged 1-15 years). It is also advised to be used with caution in elderly patients (aged above 65 years). Consult your doctor before applying the medicine. The most common side effects of applying SALIPIC 12 OINTMENT are erythema (skin redness) or skin dryness. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsens.

It is used to manage:
- psoriasis, dry, scaly skin conditions and acne
- dandruff, corn & calluses (thickened layers of skin) in affected individuals

SALIPIC 12 OINTMENT works by penetrating the affected area of skin and causing destruction to the bacteria which also reduces oil production in the skin thus managing the occurrence of skin conditions such as acne, blemishes, dandruff, and corn, calluses in affected individuals.
How to use SALIPIC 12 OINTMENT
Apply SALIPIC 12 OINTMENT as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. Wash your hands before use and work into a lather by adding water. Apply a thin layer and massage over wet skin or affected skin area. Avoid applying this medicine around your eyes, including eyelids.

How To Manage Side Effects

Dry Skin
Try moisturizing your skin with an ointment, cream, or lotion 2 or 3 times a day, or as often as needed. Moisturizers help to keep the area moisture, so they work best on damp skin. After you bathe, pat your skin dry then apply your moisturizer. Try to avoid using skin care products and soaps that contain alcohol, fragrances, dyes, or other chemicals.
