Introduction About ROXITHRAL A TABLET

ROXITHRAL A TABLET is a combination of Ambroxol and Roxithromycin, which belong to the group of medicines called Mucolytic and Macrolide antibiotics, respectively. It is used to manage respiratory infections from both the upper and lower airways (such as otitis, sinusitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, bronchitis, and pneumonia). Respiratory tract infections (RTIs) are infections of parts of the body that are involved in breathing (such as the sinuses, throat, airways, or lungs).

Otitis is an inflammation of the ear. Sinusitis is an inflammation or swelling of the tissue of the sinus lining. Pharyngitis is inflammation of the pharynx, which is in the back of the throat. It is most often mentioned simply as a sore throat. Tonsillitis is inflammation of the tonsils (the tonsils are two oval-shaped tissue pads at the back of the throat). Bronchitis is when the tubes that carry air to the lungs, called the bronchial tubes, get inflamed and swollen. Pneumonia is an infection and inflammation of the lungs' air sacs.

Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have serious liver problems, heart problems, kidney problems, myasthenia gravis, or peptic ulcers. ROXITHRAL A TABLET is not recommended for use among pregnant and breastfeeding women. ROXITHRAL A TABLET is not recommended for use in children under 6 years of age and should be used with caution in elderly patients.

The most common side effects of ROXITHRAL A TABLET are nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, changes in sense of taste, and numbness in the throat and mouth. Consult your doctor for advice if the condition persists or worsens.

How ROXITHRAL A TABLET Works

ROXITHRAL A TABLET contains Ambroxol and Roxithromycin. Ambroxol works by thinning and losing the mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Roxithromycin works by stopping bacterial growth by inhibiting the synthesis of essential proteins, which are required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. The addition of ambroxol enhances the antibacterial effect of roxithromycin. Together with Ambroxol and Roxithromycin, it helps manage respiratory infections.
