Introduction About REKOOL INJECTION
REKOOL INJECTION is used to manage acidity, heartburn, peptic ulcers, acid reflux, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It contains a medicine called Rabeprazole which is a Proton pump inhibitor that works by reducing gastric acid secretions.
Take REKOOL INJECTION 15-30 minutes before meals or as directed by the physician. Before taking inform your doctor if you have any liver problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have vitamin B12 deficiency, osteoporosis or any tumors in your stomach.
Do not take REKOOL INJECTION if you are pregnant or breastfeeding without consulting your doctor. The most common side effects of taking REKOOL INJECTION are oral sores, constipation, indigestion, stomach pain, headache and dizziness. Consult your doctor if any of the side effect troubles you.
You must also inform your doctor immediately if you experience severe uncontrollable diarrhea with stomach pain or tenderness.

REKOOL INJECTION is a proton pump inhibitor. It reduces the amount of acid produced in the stomach by blocking the actions of an enzyme called H+ K+ ATPase (also known as proton pump) which is present in the lining of the stomach walls. As a result, it reduces the chances for acid reflux into the oesophagus, heals peptic ulcers and esophageal lesions and manages its recurrence.
How to use REKOOL INJECTION
- Take REKOOL INJECTION as advised by your physician.
- Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.
- It is preferably taken in the mornings or at any time of the day before meals, preferably 15-30 minutes prior to meals
- Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

Common Side Effects of REKOOL INJECTION:
- mouth sores
- difficulty in sleeping
- headache, dizziness
- stomach pain, diarrhoea, flatulence, nausea, vomiting or constipation
- aches or back pain
- polyps in the stomach
Stop taking REKOOL INJECTION and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- signs of frequent infections (such as chills, sore throat and fever)
- painful ulcers in the mouth or throat
- bruising or bleeding easily
- severe watery or bloody diarrhoea with fever, stomach pain or tenderness

- Antifungal agents (Ex. ketoconazole or itraconazole)
- Antiviral agents (Ex. atazanavir)
- Cancer medicines (Ex. methotrexate)
- corticosteroids (used to manage pain and inflammation) such as prednisolone

If you or anyone else accidentally took more REKOOL INJECTION, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
