Introduction About RECOFAST TABLET

RECOFAST TABLET contains Phenylephrine and Triprolidine which belongs to the group of medicines called Nasal decongestants and Antihistamines respectively. It is used to manage the symptoms associated with common cold, hay fever and other upper respiratory allergies. The symptoms include runny nose, sneezing, itching of nose or throat, watery eyes, nasal congestion and swelling of nasal passages.

Before taking RECOFAST TABLET inform your doctor if you have heart or lung diseases, increased pressure in the eye, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, diabetes, and difficulty in urination due to enlarged prostate gland.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding women, ask for your doctor’s advice before taking RECOFAST TABLET. The most common side effects of taking RECOFAST TABLET are excitability and drowsiness.

How RECOFAST TABLET Works

RECOFAST TABLET helps in relieving the symptoms associated with common cold, hay fever and other upper respiratory allergies where Triprolidine is an H1 receptor antagonist that works by blocking the action of a chemical messenger (histamine) which is responsible for runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which acts by narrowing the small blood vessels providing temporary relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose.

How to use RECOFAST TABLET

Take RECOFAST TABLET as directed by your physician. Swallow the medicine as a whole and do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the right dose depends on your age, body weight and disease condition.

Side Effects Of RECOFAST TABLET

Common

  • excitability (especially in children)
  • drowsiness

Rare

Stop taking RECOFAST TABLET and contact your doctor if you get any of the following:

  • nervousness, dizziness or sleeplessness
  • cough or nasal congestion persisting for more than a week, tends to recur or is accompanied by a fever, rash or persistent headache

Interactions

A. Drug-Drug Interactions:

  • monoamine oxidase inhibitors (Ex. isocarboxazid, amitriptyline, nortriptyline) used to manage depression

If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of RECOFAST TABLET, consult your doctor immediately.
