Introduction About PIRACITRUM SYRUP

PIRACITRUM SYRUP contains Piracetam, which belongs to the group of medicines known as Nootropics. It is used in the management of myoclonus of cortical origin in combination with other anti-myoclonic therapies. Myoclonus is a sudden, involuntary muscle jerk, shake, or spasm that may be caused by a disturbance in the brain and nervous system.

Before taking PIRACITRUM SYRUP, inform your doctor if you have severe kidney disease and liver problems. Avoid consumption of alcohol during management with this medicine.

PIRACITRUM SYRUP is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless advised by the doctor, and it is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women.

PIRACITRUM SYRUP is not recommended for use in children (below 16 years of age). It should be taken with caution in elderly patients, especially in patients with impaired renal function.

How to use PIRACITRUM SYRUP

Take PIRACITRUM SYRUP as advised by your physician. Shake the bottle well before each use. Measure the dose with the enclosed dosing cup. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of PIRACITRUM SYRUP for you depending on your age, body weight, and disease condition.

A. Drug-Drug interactions:

Before taking PIRACITRUM SYRUP, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines:

  • thyroid hormones (medicine used to manage hypothyroidism)
  • anticoagulants such as acenocoumarol (medicine used to manage clotting of blood)
  • carbamazepine, phenytoin, phenobarbitone, and valproate (medicine used to control fits or seizures)

Overdosage:

If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of PIRACITRUM SYRUP, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Overdose may result in bloody diarrhea with abdominal pain.
