INTRODUCTION

OLOBET 5 contains Olopatadine which belongs to the group of medicines called Mast cell stabilizers. It is used to manage allergic rhinitis, hives (raised red patches on the skin), and itching associated with skin diseases. Allergic rhinitis is the inflammation of mucous membranes of nose in sensitized individuals when inhaled allergenic particles contact mucous membranes and induce a response mediated by antibodies (IgE). Symptoms include clear fluid from nose, sneezing, nasal congestion, allergic inflammation of eye, itchy eyes, ears or nose.

Olopatadine works by stabilizing certain inflammatory cells and blocking the H1 receptor, thus blocking the release of histamine, which is responsible to promote inflammatory reactions like allergies.

Before taking OLOBET 5, inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney diseases, history of allergic reactions, or if you are taking any other medicines. OLOBET 5 should be used in pregnant or breastfeeding women only if considered necessary by your doctor.
