Introduction About OLMESAR PLUS 40 TABLET

OLMESAR PLUS 40 TABLET is used to manage severe hypertension and chronic heart failure. It contains a combination of medicines called Azelnidipine and Olmesartan, which belong to the group of medicines called Antihypertensives. Azelnidipine works by blocking calcium channels in blood vessels, which helps them relax and lower blood pressure. Olmesartan blocks a hormone that narrows blood vessels, also helping to reduce blood pressure.

Your doctor may check your kidney function, blood pressure, and the amount of electrolytes (Ex. potassium) in your blood at regular intervals.

OLMESAR PLUS 40 TABLET is not recommended for use if you have impaired kidney function, jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes), or problems with drainage of the bile from the gallbladder (biliary obstruction, Ex. gallstones).

Inform your doctor if you have kidney disease, liver disease, heart failure, or problems with your heart valves or heart muscle before taking this medicine. It is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women.

The safety and effectiveness of OLMESAR PLUS 40 TABLET in newborns, infants, and children is not established. This medicine should be used with caution in elderly patients aged over 65 years of age. Consult your doctor before taking it.

How OLMESAR PLUS 40 TABLET Works

Azelnidipine is a calcium channel blocker. It works by relaxing the blood vessels, making it easier for blood to flow. This helps lower high blood pressure. Olmesartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It prevents a substance called angiotensin II from tightening the blood vessels. By blocking its action, olmesartan helps to lower blood pressure.
