Q: What is the use of OFLO DM?

A: OFLO DM is a prescription medicine used to manage inflammation and/or infection of the eyes and ears. It also helps in reducing pain, redness, itching, and/or burning or stinging sensations in the eyes or ears following surgery.

Q: How long does it take for OFLO DM to work?

A: It may take around 10–15 minutes for OFLO DM to start showing its effects. However, this period may vary from person-to-person depending on the dose that is administered.

Q: How does OFLO DM work?

A: OFLO DM contains two medicines, namely, betamethasone and ofloxacin. Betamethasone is a steroid medication. When applied topically to the eyes or ears, it reduces redness, soreness, pain, itching, and swelling. Ofloxacin is an antibiotic. When applied topically to the eyes or ears, it kills the susceptible bacteria that cause infection. Collectively, this medicine reduces inflammation and infection of the eyes and ears.

Q: Can the use of OFLO DM cause blurred vision?

A: Yes. OFLO DM may cause blurred vision after application in some individuals, although not everybody gets them. If your vision becomes blurry, close your eyes for some time and rest. Do not strain your eyes by looking at mobile phones, laptops, or televisions. Avoid driving or operating any heavy tools or machines while your vision is blurry. Consult your doctor if you experience blurred vision for a prolonged period.

Q: Can I use other eye medicines while using OFLO DM?

A: Avoid concomitant use of any eye medicines while using OFLO DM without consulting your doctor.

Q: How do I use OFLO DM?

A: Use OFLO DM as advised by your physician. It is for external use only. Instil few drops of this medicine into the affected eyes or ears. Repeat the same for the other eye or ear, if required.
