Introduction About OCTEDIN GEL

OCTEDIN GEL contains Octenidine which belongs to the group of medicines called Dihydropyridines. It is intended for use on acute skin lesions such as cuts, grazes, slight burns and sunburn. It also promotes wound healing and reduces itching.

Acute skin lesion is a condition in which the affected area of skin is abnormal in appearance or growth when compared to its surrounding tissues. It is characterised by redness or whitish discoloration with fluid filled cavities, itchiness, dry skin, burning sensation, peeling of skin, etc.

OCTEDIN GEL should be used with caution during pregnancy. Consult your doctor before using. OCTEDIN GEL should be used with caution in children (3-8years age) so, consult your child’s doctor for advice.

The most common side effect of using OCTEDIN GEL include skin irritation and allergic contact dermatitis (skin rash due to contact with some substances). Consult your doctor immediately if any of the symptoms worsen or persist.

How to use OCTEDIN GEL

Always use this medicine as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. Disinfect the affected area and apply a thin layer of gel. Dressing or plaster can be given over that if required. Do not let the tip of the tube to touch the wound. Your doctor will prescribe the correct dose and duration of use depending on age and disease condition.
