NORTIMER 75MG TABLET contains Nortriptyline which belongs to the group of medicines called Antidepressants. It is used in adults to manage and relieve the symptoms of depression.

Depression is a mental illness characterized by sad mood, loss of interest and pleasure, low energy, worthlessness, guilt, slowed mental or physical activities, change in appetite or sleep, profound sadness, and even suicidal thoughts.

Avoid consumption of alcohol during management with NORTIMER 75MG TABLET. NORTIMER 75MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients having heart or liver diseases, or mania.

Before taking NORTIMER 75MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have thyroid problems, diabetes, fits, glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye), or an enlarged prostate. The safety of NORTIMER 75MG TABLET for use during pregnancy has not been established. NORTIMER 75MG TABLET is not recommended for use among breastfeeding women, therefore consult your doctor before taking.

NORTIMER 75MG TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (under 18 years of age). If you have thoughts of harming or killing yourself at any time, contact your doctor or go to hospital immediately.

  • inflammation of the liver, yellowish skin or whites of your eyes, dark urine, pale stools, tiredness, fever, nausea, weakness, drowsiness, stomach pain
  • thoughts of harming or killing yourself
  • paralysed intestine (constant constipation with a swollen stomach, fever, vomiting)
  • effects on blood or bone marrow (the number of red cells, white cells and platelets are reduced and can cause bruising, bleeding, pallor or persistent sore throat and fever)

Before taking NORTIMER 75MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:

  • medicines used to lower blood pressure (Ex. guanethidine, debrisoquine, bethanidine, clonidine)
  • barbiturates (used for anxiety or to induce sleepy) Ex. secobarbital, pentobarbital
  • other medicines used to manage depression (Ex. fluoxetine, phenelzine, selegiline, amitriptyline)
  • cimetidine (used to manage acidity and ulcers)
  • medicines used to manage mental illness (Ex. chlorpromazine, fluphenazine)
  • carbamazepine (used to manage fits)
  • medicine used to manage heartbeat disorders (Ex. propafenone, flecainide, encainide, quinidine)
  • valproic acid (used to manage fits and bipolar disorder)
  • medicines used to manage severe pain (Ex. buprenorphine, morphine)
  • medicines used to manage cough and cold (Ex. ephedrine, isoprenaline, noradrenaline, phenylephrine, phenylpropanolamine)
  • medicines used to manage pain during surgeries (Ex. propofol, midazolam)
