Nicotinamide:
- In its metabolically active form – NAD (Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide), it transfers the energy in carbohydrates, fats and proteins to adenosine triphosphate (ATP), thereby assisting in the energy needs of those affected with diabetic neuropathy
- It prevents oxidative nerve damage
