Introduction About MOXIBOW EYE/EAR DROPS
MOXIBOW EYE/EAR DROPS contains Moxifloxacin which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. It is used for the management of infections of the eye (bacterial conjunctivitis) and ear.
Bacterial conjunctivitis is the infection of the transparent membrane (conjunctiva) that lines the eyelid and covers the white part of your eyeball. Symptoms of bacterial conjunctivitis include pain, discomfort, redness, itching, irritation, and watering of the eyes.
Patients should be advised not to wear contact lenses if they have signs and symptoms of bacterial conjunctivitis in the eye.
MOXIBOW EYE/EAR DROPS should be used with caution in pregnant women or if you think you may be pregnant and in breastfeeding woman. Consult your doctor before using.
MOXIBOW EYE/EAR DROPS is not recommended for use in the newborn and it should be used with caution in children and adolescents. Your doctor will prescribe the right dose depends on your child’s age and body weight.
MOXIBOW EYE/EAR DROPS should be used with caution in elderly patients of above 65 years of age. The common side effects are eye/ear pain or irritation. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.

MOXIBOW EYE/EAR DROPS works by inhibiting the bacterial enzymes DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV which are required for DNA replication and transcription resulting in cell death. This manages the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing and destroys them.
How to use MOXIBOW EYE/EAR DROPS
Use MOXIBOW EYE/EAR DROPS exactly as directed by your physician. It is for topical external use only. Wash your hands before and after use. Instil the recommended dose of MOXIBOW EYE/EAR DROPS into the effected eye or ear without touching the tip of the medicine container. Your doctor will prescribe the right dose depends on your age, body weight and severity of the infection.
Side Effects Of MOXIBOW EYE/EAR DROPS
Common
- eye/ear pain or irritation
- dryness, itchiness and redness of eye
Uncommon
- eye surface inflammation or scarring
- bright red patch
- abnormal eye sensation, swelling
- headache
- bad taste
Rare
- corneal disorder
- blurred or reduced vision
- inflammation or infection of the conjunctiva
- eye strain or swelling
- vomiting
- nose discomfort
- feeling of a lump in the throat, pain and throat irritation
- signs of decreased iron in blood pale skin, weakness, cold hands, and feet
Stop using MOXIBOW EYE/EAR DROPS and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- swelling of the hands, feet, ankles, face, lips, mouth, or throat which may cause difficulty in swallowing or breathing
- rash or hives, large fluid - filled blisters
- sores and ulceration
How To Manage Side Effects
Headache:
Apply hot or cold-water bag on your head. Try to take rest in a quiet and dark room. Drink tea or coffee. Massage on scalp or head with mild pressure. Consult your doctor for advice.
Blurred vision:
This happens immediately after putting the medicine and is usually temporary. Wait until your vision becomes clear before you start doing normal works.

Pregnancy
MOXIBOW EYE/EAR DROPS should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the foetus. Consult your doctor before using.
Breastfeeding
There are no adequate and well controlled studies on the use of MOXIBOW EYE/EAR DROPS in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before using.
Driving and Using Machines
Do not drive or handle any machines while using this medicine, since it may cause blurred vision.
Allergy
Do not use MOXIBOW EYE/EAR DROPS you are allergic to Moxifloxacin or any other ingredients of this medicine.
Others
Before using MOXIBOW EYE/EAR DROPS, inform your doctor if you:
- wear contact lens
- have pain or swelling of the tendons (tendinitis)
Use in pediatrics:
