A: MINFIN 10% TOPICAL SOLUTION contains Minoxidil which belongs to the group of medicines called vasodilators. It is used in the management of hair loss (androgenic alopecia) in men and women. MINFIN 10% TOPICAL SOLUTION is used to manage only mild to moderate hair loss problems and not complete hair loss and helps to stimulate hair growth in such cases.

Q: How to use MINFIN 10% TOPICAL SOLUTION?

A: Always use MINFIN 10% TOPICAL SOLUTION as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. This medicine is for use on the normal healthy scalp only. Apply MINFIN 10% TOPICAL SOLUTION directly on dry scalp and hair. Do not use it on inflamed, infected, irritated or painful scalp skin. Do not apply to any other part of the body. Avoid contact with your eyes. Your doctor will decide the required dose and duration of MINFIN 10% TOPICAL SOLUTION for you as per your age and disease condition.

Q: Can MINFIN 10% TOPICAL SOLUTION cause loss of hair after use?

A: In the first couple of months, MINFIN 10% TOPICAL SOLUTION may cause increased hair shedding after use in some individuals. There is a temporary increase in the shedding of hair that generally occurs between 2 and 6 weeks after the start of management and then decreases. If increased shedding continues after 6 weeks of MINFIN 10% TOPICAL SOLUTION use, consult your doctor.

A: Since hair grows slowly, MINFIN 10% TOPICAL SOLUTION takes time to work. Results may be seen in 2-4 months with daily use. If there’s no hair regrowth after 4 months, then consult your doctor. The amount of hair regrowth is different for each person and may not work for all. Continued use of MINFIN 10% TOPICAL SOLUTION is necessary to increase and maintain hair re-growth or hair loss will begin again.

A: The most common side effects of applying MINFIN 10% TOPICAL SOLUTION are headache, itching of the scalp, rash, burning sensation and excessive hair growth. Consult your doctor in case any of the side effects worsen or persist for long.
