Introduction About MIGNAR MF 25MG TABLET

MIGNAR MF 25MG TABLET is a combination of Metformin and Miglitol which belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-diabetic agents. It is used in adults with type-II diabetes mellitus, when diet, exercise and therapy with single agents does not provide adequate glycemic control. Diabetes is a disorder in which your pancreas does not make enough insulin or your body is not able to use the produced insulin adequately, resulting in high level of glucose in your blood. It can show symptoms like increased thirst, urination and hunger, blurry vision, numbness in hands or feet or tiredness.    

During course of the management your doctor might regularly monitor your blood glucose and kidney function at regular intervals to avoid any untoward side effects. Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking MIGNAR MF 25MG TABLET to minimise the risk of interactions.

Before taking MIGNAR MF 25MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have any kidney, heart, lung, pancreas or liver problems, chronic intestinal diseases, dehydration or any infection. The safety of MIGNAR MF 25MG TABLET in pregnant women have not been established. It is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women, so consult your doctor before taking it.

The most common side effects of taking MIGNAR MF 25MG TABLET are nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach pain and loss of appetite. Consult your doctor if any of the above side effects worsen.

How MIGNAR MF 25MG TABLET Works

MIGNAR MF 25MG TABLET helps to control blood glucose levels, where metformin suppresses glucose production in liver, enhances insulin-mediated glucose uptake and distribution in skeletal muscle and fat and interferes with mitochondrial respiratory chain and promotes peripheral glucose utilization through anaerobic breakdown of glucose. Miglitol reversibly inhibits the membrane-bound intestinal α-glucoside hydrolase enzymes that hydrolyses carbohydrates to glucose in the brush border of the small intestine. This enzyme inhibition results in delayed glucose absorption and lowering of postprandial high blood glucose levels.

How to use MIGNAR MF 25MG TABLET

Take MIGNAR MF 25MG TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

A. Drug - Drug interactions:

Before taking MIGNAR MF 25MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines:

• other medicines used to lower blood glucose levels (Ex. glimepiride, glipizide)
• medicines used to increase urine production (Ex. furosemide, chlorthalidone)
• medicines used to manage pain and inflammation (Ex. ibuprofen, celecoxib)
• medicines used to decrease blood pressure (Ex. enalapril, valsartan, verapamil, propranolol)
• medicines used to relieve symptoms of asthma or COPD (Ex. salbutamol, terbutaline)
• medicines used to manage stomach ulcers or acidity (Ex. cimetidine, ranitidine)
• dolutegravir (used to manage HIV infection)
• ranolazine (used to manage angina)
• trimethoprim (used to manage infection of the urinary tract)
• medicines used in certain types of cancers (Ex. vandenatib, crizotinib, olaparib)
• isavuconazole (used to manage fungal infections)
• medicines used to manage fits (Ex. carbamazepine, phenobarbital, phenytoin)
• rifampicin (used to manage tuberculosis)
• medicines used to manage inflammation (Ex. prednisolone, hydrocortisone)
• medicines used to manage bronchial asthma (Ex. salbutamol, terbutaline)
• charcoal (an intestinal adsorbent)
• digestive enzyme preparations containing carbohydrate-splitting enzymes (Ex. amylase, pancreatin)

If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of MIGNAR MF 25MG TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Overdosage symptoms of MIGNAR MF 25MG TABLET includes flatulence, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort and symptoms of lactic acidosis such as vomiting, stomach pain with muscle cramps, feeling generally unwell with severe tiredness, trouble breathing, reduced body temperature and slow heartbeat.
