METHIMERCAZOLE 5MG TABLET is not recommended if you have history of acute pancreatitis (severe abdominal pain). METHIMERCAZOLE 5MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients suffering from liver, kidney disease, large goitre (swelling in the front neck). Consult your doctor before taking it. METHIMERCAZOLE 5MG TABLET is generally not recommended for use in pregnant women unless it is considered clearly necessary. METHIMERCAZOLE 5MG TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

METHIMERCAZOLE 5MG TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine. The most common side effects of taking METHIMERCAZOLE 5MG TABLET are anorexia (eating disorder), muscle pain, dizziness, drowsiness, neuritis, edema, numbness hair loss and heartburn. Contact your doctor if any of the above side effects worsen or persists for a longer duration.

Before taking METHIMERCAZOLE 5MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:

• digitalis glycosides Ex. digoxin, digitoxin (medicines used for heart failure)
• theophylline (used for asthma)
• anticoagulants Ex. warfarin (medicines used to thin blood)
• beta blockers such as atenolol, carvedilol, labetalol (medicines used to manage high blood pressure and heart diseases)

Overdosage:

If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of METHIMERCAZOLE 5MG TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdose are nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort, headache, fever, joint pain, itching and edema (fluid retention or swelling).

A: If you forget to take a dose of METHIMERCAZOLE 5MG TABLET, take it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next dose at the right time. Do not take the medicine twice to make up for the forgotten dose.
