Introduction About MAXXSULIDE DT TABLET

MAXXSULIDE DT TABLET contains Nimesulide, which belongs to the group of medicines called Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It is used to manage inflammatory conditions, including joint disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, posttraumatic and postoperative painful conditions, and fever. MAXXSULIDE DT TABLET is also used to manage acute pain in orthopaedic, ENT, dental, and mild to moderate pain of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Your doctor might advise regular liver function tests during management with MAXXSULIDE DT TABLET.

MAXXSULIDE DT TABLET is usually advised as a second line of management for a short duration of time in order to relieve symptoms.

MAXXSULIDE DT TABLET is not recommended in cases of active stomach or duodenal ulcers, alcoholism, drug addiction, cerebrovascular bleeding or bleeding disorders, severe clotting disorders, severe heart, kidney, or liver impairment, fever and/or flu-like symptoms, a history of recurrent ulceration, or gastrointestinal bleeding.

MAXXSULIDE DT TABLET is not recommended during the third trimester of pregnancy and in breast-feeding women.

MAXXSULIDE DT TABLET is not given to children and adolescents below 12 years of age. It should be used with caution in elderly patients.

The most common side effects of taking MAXXSULIDE DT TABLET are vomiting, diarrhea or nausea, and changes in the level of liver enzymes. Consult your doctor if the above side effects do not improve.

Uses Of MAXXSULIDE DT TABLET

It is used to manage inflammatory conditions, including joint disorders such as:

  • rheumatoid arthritis
  • post traumatic
  • postoperative painful condition and
  • fever

How MAXXSULIDE DT TABLET Works

MAXXSULIDE DT TABLET works by blocking the enzyme involved in the production of certain chemical substances during inflammation, which are responsible for causing pain, redness, swelling, and fever in the body. Hence decreasing the fever, pain, and swelling caused after injuries.

How to use MAXXSULIDE DT TABLET

Take MAXXSULIDE DT TABLET as advised by your physician. It can be taken with or without meals.

For Tablet, Capsule: Swallow MAXXSULIDE DT TABLET with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.

For Dispersible Tablet: Disperse MAXXSULIDE DT TABLET in the specified quantity of water as mentioned in the label. Consume the mixture immediately after reconstitution.

Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight, and disease condition. Continue to take MAXXSULIDE DT TABLET for the stipulated duration prescribed by your doctor to achieve better results.

Side Effects Of MAXXSULIDE DT TABLET

  • signs of allergic reactions like rashes, mucosal lesions (exfoliative dermatitis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, and toxic epidermal necrolysis)
  • signs of liver injury (anorexia, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, fatigue, dark urine, or abnormal liver function tests)
  • gastrointestinal bleeding or ulceration/perforation, stools with blood
  • signs of fever like chills, shivering, feeling of uneasiness

How To Manage Side Effects

Diarrhea

Drink lots of fluids, like water and fruit juice, to keep yourself hydrated. Do not consume any medicine on your own without consulting your doctor. If the diarrhea does not improve, contact your doctor.

Nausea And Vomiting

Take this medicine just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oil-rich or spicy foods. If the nausea and vomiting do not improve, contact your doctor.

Heart Disease

Before taking MAXXSULIDE DT TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:

  • other medicine used to reduce inflammation (Ex. methylprednisolone)
  • medicine used to manage blood clots (Ex. warfarin)
  • medicine used in management of arthritis (Ex. methotrexate)
  • medicines used in the management of mental disorders (Ex. lithium)
  • diuretics (Ex. furosemide) to rid the body of salt and water

Overdosage:

If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much MAXXSULIDE DT TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdose are drowsiness, sluggishness, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal discomfort.
