What is LYMZIT 408?
- LYMZIT 408 contains Lymecycline which belongs to a group of medicines called tetracycline antibiotics
What LYMZIT 408 is used for?
It is used to manage:
- acne
- many other infections caused by bacteria

Talk to your Doctor if you
- are allergic to LYMZIT 408 or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
- have ever had kidney disease
- have hepatic impairment or renal insufficiency (failure of liver and kidney function)
- suffer from systemic lupus erythematosus (an allergic condition that causes joint pain, skin rashes or fever) or Myasthenia Gravis (a disease that weakens the muscles)
- LYMZIT 408 cross the placental barrier during pregnancy and are distributed into milk in breastfeeding women.So this medicine must not be taken if you are pregnant or breast feeding
- If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
- LYMZIT 408 is not recommended to children below 8 years of age
- LYMZIT 408 is not known to affect the ability to drive or use machines
Tell your doctor if you are taking,
- oral retinoids
- warfarin (used to thin your blood)
- diuretics (used to manage kidney disease, heart disease or high blood pressure)
- medicines to manage indigestion or ulcer
- quinapril (used for high blood pressure)
- supplements containing calcium, aluminum, magnesium, zinc or iron
- penicillin’s (another type of antibiotics)
- antacids containing aluminum, calcium or magnesium
- methoxyflurane (used to reduce pain)
- Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
- LYMZIT 408 should always be taken with a glass of water
If you take more LYMZIT 408
- If you, or anyone else, take too many, contact your doctor for advice or go to your nearest hospital immediately
If you forget to take LYMZIT 408
- If you forget to take your medicine at the right time. Take it when you remember and carry on as before unless it is time for the next dose. Do not double up the dose to make up for a forgotten capsule
If you stop taking LYMZIT 408
- Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells you to do so
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
- swollen face, lips, tongue and throat
- difficulty in breathing
- hives, blistering or peeling of large areas of skin
- ulcerations or lesions on the mouth, lips, genital or anal regions
- severe or persistent headaches or visual disturbances
- nausea (feeling sick)
- abdominal pain, diarrhea
- headache
- inflammation or ulceration of the gullet, causing pain or difficulty swallowing or painful heartburn
- inflammation of the pancreas
- liver damage
- teeth discoloration
- inflammation or soreness of the tongue, mouth, cheeks, gums or lips
- soreness or itching of the genital area
- yeast infection around the anus or genitals
- infection of the colon
- permanent visual loss
- Protect from excess heat and light
- Keep this medicine out of reach of children
- Store at a room temperature of 15-25°C
