Introduction About LIPIKIND AS 20 CAPSULE
LIPIKIND AS 20 Capsule is used for the management of dyslipidemia associated with atherosclerotic arterial disease with risk of myocardial infarction, stroke or peripheral vascular disease. It is a combination of Atorvastatin and Aspirin which belongs to the group of medicines known as Statins and Non-steroid anti-inflammatory agents respectively. LIPIKIND AS 20 Capsule works by blocking an enzyme required in the body to make cholesterol. It lowers the bad cholesterol (LDL), and triglycerides and raises the good cholesterol (HDL) and also decreases the formation of harmful blood clots.
LIPIKIND AS 20 CAPSULE is not recommended for use in patients hypoprothrombinaemia, haemophilia and active peptic ulceration. It should be used with caution in patients with rhabdomyolysis, hypothyroidism, hereditary muscular disorders or muscular toxicity with a statin or fibrate. LIPIKIND AS 20 CAPSULE is generally not recommended for use in pregnant women. Contact your doctor before taking. LIPIKIND AS 20 CAPSULE is generally not recommended for use in breastfeeding women as it may pass through the breast milk. Contact your doctor before taking the medicine. - CYP3A4 inducers (Ex. efavirenz, rifampin, St. John's Wort)
- Gemfibrozil and fibric acid derivatives
- Selective cholesterol-absorption inhibitors (Ex. ezetimibe)
- Cardiac glycosides (Ex. digoxin)
- Oral contraceptives
- Coumarin derivatives (Ex. warfarin)
- Oral hypoglycaemic agents
- Anti-convulsant (Ex. Phenytoin, Sodium valproate)
- Corticosteroids
- Carbonic anhydrase inhibitors (Ex. acetazolamide and salicylates)
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally took too much of LIPIKIND AS 20 CAPSULE, consult your doctor immediately. Symptoms of overdose include vomiting, dehydration, tinnitus, vertigo, deafness, sweating, warm extremities with bounding pulses, increased respiratory rate and hyperventilation.
