Interactions

A. Drug-Drug interactions:

Before taking GLICLAVAC MV TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines:

  • medicines used to manage high blood sugar (Ex. glimepiride, liraglutide, or insulin)
  • antibiotics (Ex. sulphonamides, clarithromycin)
  • medicines to manage high blood pressure, such as beta blockers (Ex. propranolol, atenolol), ACE inhibitors (Ex. captopril), angiotensin-II antagonists (Ex. losartan), nifedipine, and diazoxide
  • medicines used to manage infections, such as co-trimoxazole, fluconazole, rifampicin, chloramphenicol, and oral forms of miconazole (sulphonamides such as sulfafurazole or tetracycline compounds, tetracycline, sulfonamides, and clarithromycin)
  • medicines used to manage blood clotting (Ex. warfarin)
  • medicines used to manage depression, such as monoamine oxidase inhibitors (Ex. moclobemide)
  • medicines used to manage mental health problems, such as lithium and phenothiazine derivatives (Ex. prochlorperazine)
  • prednisolone, glucocorticoids, and tetracosactrin (medicines used to reduce inflammation in the body)
  • medicines used to manage pain like phenylbutazone, azapropazone, and other NSAIDs like ibuprofen, celecoxib, and salicylates like aspirin
  • bendroflumethiazide, hydrochlorothiazide, and furosemide (medicines used to manage fluid retention)
  • oral contraceptives (medicines used to manage female reproductive health) Ex. levonorgestrel
  • sulfinpyrazone (medicine used for gout)
  • aminoglutethimide (a medicine used to manage breast or prostate cancer)
  • hormones like testosterone, octreotide, or thyroid hormones (Ex. thyroxine)
  • cimetidine (a medicine used to manage stomach ulcers)
  • clofibrate (a medicine used to manage high cholesterol in the blood)
  • disopyramide (medicine used to manage irregular heartbeats)
  • laxatives (medicine used to manage constipation)
  • chlorpromazine (a medicine used to manage disorders of the central nervous system)
  • medicines to manage asthma or used during labour (Ex. intravenous salbutamol, ritodrine, and terbutaline)

Overdosage:

If you or anyone else accidentally used too much of GLICLAVAC MV TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit any nearby hospital. Symptoms of an overdose are low blood sugar, such as sweating, trembling, weakness, double vision, palpitations, confusion, and symptoms of lactic acidosis that are non-specific, such as vomiting, abdominal pain with muscle cramps, a feeling of being unwell with severe tiredness, and difficulty breathing.
