Introduction About GERBISA 10MG SUPPOSITORY

Gerbisa 10mg Suppository is a stimulant laxative, used to manage constipation and is also used to empty the bowel before surgery, X-rays, colonoscopy or other intestinal medical procedure. It contains bisacodyl as an active ingredient which helps to stimulate bowel movements.

Bisacodyl is a well-known stimulant laxative. It works by increasing bowel movement so you can pass the stools more easily, it relieves constipation. It also makes your stool softer.

Always use Gerbisa 10mg Suppository as advised by the physician. Do not use more than one per day and for more than 5 days without a doctor's prescription. Along with this medicine, drink plenty of fluids (6-8 glasses per day) and eat a fibre-rich diet as it may help to manage constipation. Follow regular physical exercise.

Safety Advice

  • Always use Gerbisa 10mg Suppository as advised by your physician
  • Only use one suppository per day. It should not be used every day for more than 5 days
  • It is for rectal use only. Wash your hands before and after use. As you lie on your side, bring your knees up to your chest. Keep one leg raised up higher than the other. With your finger, push the suppository into your rectum until it reaches the bowel wall. The suppository should remain inside you for at least 30 minutes
  • Do not use Gerbisa 10mg Suppository if you are allergic to any of its ingredients
  • Gerbisa 10mg Suppository should not be used by pregnant women and should be used by breast-feeding women only if advised by the doctor
  • Gerbisa 10mg Suppository should not be used in children under 12 years of age
  • Gerbisa 10mg Suppository is not recommended if you have or had other bowel problems (such as blockage in the intestine, appendicitis, inflammation of the bowel (small or large intestine), ulcerative proctitis and ulcerative colitis, haemorrhoids, anal fissures, rectal bleeding), current abdominal symptoms (such as pain, nausea and vomiting) and severe dehydration
  • Inform your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines including prescription and over the counter medications, as well as a vitamin supplement or herbal products
