FORMOST 200 INHALER is a fixed-dose combination of formoterol and mometasone which belongs to the group of medicines called anti-asthmatics. It is used in the management of asthma and its symptoms. Asthma is a condition which causes swelling and narrowing of the airways resulting in breathing difficulty, extra mucus secretion, breathing difficulty, whistling sound (wheezing) when you breathe out and shortness of breath.

FORMOST 200 INHALER is not recommended for patients with acute asthma. FORMOST 200 INHALER should be used with caution in patients with heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid disorder, epilepsy, urinary retention, and narrow-angle glaucoma.

FORMOST 200 INHALER is an anti-asthmatic medicine that works by managing breathing difficulty. It has two medicines namely formoterol and mometasone. Formoterol is a bronchodilator which actively produces relaxation to the smooth muscles in the airway managing tightening of smooth muscles and breathing difficulty.

The tightening of the airway muscles causes symptoms such as wheezing and shortness of breath if left unmanageed it can even cause death. Mometasone a corticosteroid works to reduce inflammation. Headache

• medicines used to manage fluid accumulation by increasing urine secretion Ex. furosemide, spironolactone

• other medicines used to manage breathing difficulty Ex. theophylline
• medicines used to manage viral infections and medicines enhancing their activity Ex. ritonavir, cobicistat
• medicines used to manage bacterial infection Ex. erythromycin, clarithromycin, telithromycin
• medicines used to manage uneven heartbeat and parkinson’s disease Ex. Disopyramide, procainamide, phenothiazines, quinidine
• terfenadine and astemizole (medicines used to manage allergies)
