Introduction About FLEXOPROL TABLET
FLEXOPROL TABLET contains Oxaceprol which belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-inflammatory agents. It is used to manage pain associated with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis in adult patients.
Osteoarthritis is most common form of arthritis affecting weight bearing joints like hand, knees, hip and spine causing joint pain, stiffness, decreased range of motion, tenderness and swelling.
Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune and chronic progressive inflammatory disease affecting hands, wrist, knees and feet characterised by joint pain, stiffness, tenderness in joints, weight loss, fever, fatigue and weakness.
FLEXOPROL TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with liver or kidney impairment. Contact your doctor before taking it.
FLEXOPROL TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless it is considered necessary. It is also not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Contact your doctor before taking it.
FLEXOPROL TABLET is not recommended for use in infants less than 2months of age as safety and efficacy has not been established. Contact your doctor before taking it.
The most common side effects of taking FLEXOPROL TABLET are headache, skin rash, itchy skin. Contact your physician if any of the symptoms worsen.

How FLEXOPROL TABLET Works
FLEXOPROL TABLET helps to relieve pain and swelling of the joints by managing the entry of white blood cells into the joints and inhibits inflammation.
How to use FLEXOPROL TABLET
Take FLEXOPROL TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicines with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. It should be taken before meals.
Your physician will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

How To Manage Side Effects
Headache:
Rest and relax. Drink plenty of fluids such as water or ORS (Oral Rehydrating Solution) and apply a pain-relieving balm on the head if necessary. Contact your doctor if the headache did not improve.
Dizziness:
Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operate any machines while you are feeling dizzy. Do not drink alcohol, as it can aggravate your dizziness. Contact your doctor if your dizziness did not improve.
Itchy skin:
Avoid hot bath because hot water can irritate your skin further. Do not scratch the affected area. Use sunscreen and wear protective clothing while going outside. Use unscented moisturizers to soothe and hydrate the affected area. Contact your doctor if the itching worsens.
Nausea:
Take the medicine, with or just after a meal. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy food. Contact your doctor if nausea did not improve.
Stomach pain:
Try to rest and relax. Eat small meals but take frequently. Keep a heat pad on your stomach. Contact your doctor if the stomach pain worsens.
Diarrhoea:
Drink lots of fluids, such as water or fruit juices to keep yourself hydrated. Do not take any medicine on your own for managing diarrhoea. Contact your doctor if your diarrhoea did not improve.

FLEXOPROL TABLET is generally not recommended for use in pregnant women unless it is considered necessary. Contact your doctor before taking it.

Breastfeeding
FLEXOPROL TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding as it not known whether this medicine passes into breast milk. Contact your doctor before taking it.

Driving and Using Machines
FLEXOPROL TABLET has no effect on the ability to drive or operate machines.

Kidney
FLEXOPROL TABLET not recommended for use in patients with kidney impairment as safety and efficacy has not been established. Contact your doctor before taking it.

Liver
FLEXOPROL TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with liver impairment as safety and efficacy has not been established. Contact your doctor before taking it.

Allergy
Do not take FLEXOPROL TABLET if you are allergic to oxaceprol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Others
Use in paediatrics:

Interactions
A. Drug-Drug interactions:
Before taking FLEXOPROL TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:
- vitamin K antagonist Ex. warfarin (medicines used to manage or manage blood clots)
- antihypertensives (medicines used for high blood pressure) Ex. enalapril
- methotrexate (used to manage rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis)
- lithium (used to manage mania)
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally take too much of FLEXOPROL TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
