Introduction About DYCERIN A TABLET
DYCERIN A TABLET is a combination of Aceclofenac and Diacerein which belongs to the group of medicines called Non-steroidal Anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and Anthraquinones respectively. It is used to relieve pain also reduces swelling and redness in adult patients suffering from osteoarthritis of hip and knee joints.
Osteoarthritis can be defined as a degenerative joint disorder which is categorized by swelling, stiffness and painful joints. DYCERIN A TABLET is not recommended for use in patients having severe liver, kidney and heart disease.
DYCERIN A TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women and breast-feeding mothers unless clearly advised by your doctor. You are advised to inform your doctor if you have any problems becoming pregnant, as this medicine may make it more difficult to become pregnant.
DYCERIN A TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents aged under 18 years. Also, it is not recommended for use in elderly patients aged above 65 years.
Avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medicine as it may increase your risk of liver damage. The most common side effects of DYCERIN A TABLET are dizziness, nausea, diarrhea and flatulence. Consult your doctor if any of the side effects worsen.

How DYCERIN A TABLET Works
DYCERIN A TABLET is used to reduce pain and swelling, where aceclofenac acts as an anti-inflammatory agent and painkiller thus blocks the production of inflammatory mediators called prostaglandins in the body which are responsible for causing pain and swelling at the site of injury. As a result, it reduces the joint pain and swelling. Diacerein works by blocking the actions of a protein called interleukin-1β and cytokines which are involved in inflammation and degeneration of tissues thus relieves inflammation and damage of tissues.
How to use DYCERIN A TABLET
Take DYCERIN A TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Side Effects Of DYCERIN A TABLET
Common
- dizziness
- nausea
- diarrhea, flatulence
- frequent bowel movements
- rash, itching
- eczema (red and itchy rash)
Uncommon
- swelling or irritation of the lining of stomach
- constipation
- vomiting
- ulcerations in the mouth
- raised circular itchy red, stinging and burning patches on the skin (hives)

- heart failure
- high blood pressure
- breathing difficulties
- bleeding and ulcerations in the stomach or intestine
Stop taking DYCERIN A TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- unusual frequent liquid or watery stools
- signs of serious liver disease (such as yellow discoloration of eyes and skin (jaundice), impaired consciousness and itchy skin)
- severe allergic reactions (such as fever, breathing difficulties, wheezing, abdominal pain, vomiting, swelling of the face and throat which could be life threatening if not managed immediately)
- serious skin reactions (such as stevens-johnson syndrome or toxic epidermal necrolysis) accompanied by skin rash with widespread blistering and peeling of the skin. The rash can also occur in the mouth, throat or eyes which is associated with fever, headache and aching of the joints
- signs of meningitis (such as high fever, headache, vomiting, blotchy red rashes, neck stiffness, sensitivity and intolerance to light)
- blood in faeces causing black tarry stools
- vomiting blood or dark particles similar to coffee grounds
- signs of kidney failure (such as confusion, tiredness, nausea, low urine output and fluid retention)
- severe indigestion or heartburn
- abdominal pain or any other abnormal abdominal symptoms
- high potassium levels in the blood causing irritation in the blood vessels leading to inflammatory condition such as vasculitis and can cause symptoms such as severe tiredness, breathlessness, joint pain and frequent infections along with bruising
How To Manage Side Effects
Nausea or vomiting:
Take DYCERIN A TABLET with or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oil rich or spicy foods. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.
Flatulence:
Eat smaller and frequent meals. Eat and drink slowly and exercise regularly. If the symptom does not improve, contact your doctor.
Constipation:
Eat plenty of fiber rich foods such as fresh fruits, vegetables, cereals and drink plenty of water. Exercise more regularly. If the symptom does not improve, contact your doctor.
Diarrhoea:
Drink lot of fluids such as water or fruit juice to keep yourself hydrated. Do not consume any medicine on your own without consulting your doctor.

Pregnancy
DYCERIN A TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless considered clearly necessary. It should not be used particularly during last three months of pregnancy. Consult your doctor before taking DYCERIN A TABLET.

Breastfeeding
DYCERIN A TABLET is not recommended for breast feeding mothers unless considered clearly necessary as it is unknown whether this medicine passes through breast milk. Consult your doctor before taking DYCERIN A TABLET.

Driving and Using Machines
Do not drive or operate any machines if you feel dizziness, drowsiness, vertigo, tiredness or any difficulties in eyesight after taking DYCERIN A TABLET.

Alcohol
Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking DYCERIN A TABLET because it might make you dizzier and increase your risk of liver damage.

Kidney
DYCERIN A TABLET is not recommended for use in patients having severe kidney disease and should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Consult your doctor before taking DYCERIN A TABLET.

Liver
DYCERIN A TABLET is not recommended for use in patients having severe liver failure and should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Consult your doctor before taking DYCERIN A TABLET.

Allergy
Do not take DYCERIN A TABLET if you are allergic to diacerein, acelofenac, aspirin or any other NSAIDs (such as ibuprofen, naproxen or diclofenac).

Lungs
DYCERIN A TABLET should be used with caution in patients having asthma or any other breathing difficulties. Consult your doctor before taking DYCERIN A TABLET.

Heart Disease
DYCERIN A TABLET is not recommended for use in patients having any heart diseases such as heart attack, stroke, mini-stroke, blockages to blood vessels to the heart or undergone any heart surgeries to remove heart blocks. Use in pediatrics:
DYCERIN A TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged under 18 years). Consult your child’s doctor for advice.
Use in geriatrics:
DYCERIN A TABLET is not recommended for use in elderly patients (aged 65 years and above). Consult your doctor before taking DYCERIN A TABLET.

Overdosage symptoms of DYCERIN A TABLET includes headache, nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, gastrointestinal irritation or bleeding, rarely diarrhea, disorientation, excitation, coma, drowsiness, dizziness, ringing sensation in ears, low blood pressure, respiratory depression, fainting, occasionally convulsions, acute kidney failure and liver damage.
