DONANCE 10 TABLET contains Donepezil which belongs to the group of medicines called Cholinesterase inhibitors. It is indicated for the management of mild to moderately severe Alzheimer’s dementia.

Alzheimer's disease is a brain disorder that causes dementia (a group of symptoms that affect the memory, thinking and social abilities of a person) by destroying the memory and other important mental functions in the brain which is characterized by memory loss, confusion, and behavioral changes.

Before taking DONANCE 10 TABLET, inform your doctor if you are allergic to Donepezil, have asthma, heart, kidney, or liver disease.

DONANCE 10 TABLET is not recommended for use if you have severe liver disease. Consult your doctor before taking medicine.

DONANCE 10 TABLET is generally not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women unless it is considered clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before taking DONANCE 10 TABLET.

DONANCE 10 TABLET belongs to cholinesterase inhibitor which works by increasing the levels of a chemical messenger (acetylcholine) involved in transmission of nerve signals. This improves memory and thinking. Memory loss in Alzheimer’s disease occurs due to disturbances of signal transmission in the brain.

How to use DONANCE 10 TABLET

Take DONANCE 10 TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow DONANCE 10 TABLET with a glass of water and do not chew or crush the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

  • signs of hepatitis (liver damage) such as feeling or being sick, loss of appetite, feeling unwell, fever, itching, yellowing of the skin and eyes, and dark coloured urine
  • signs of a neuroleptic malignant syndrome (serious brain disorder) such as fever with muscle stiffness, sweating or a lowered level of consciousness
  • signs of rhabdomyolysis such as muscle weakness, tenderness or pain, particularly, if at the same time, you feel unwell, have a high temperature or have dark urine

How To Manage Side Effects

Diarrhea

Drink lots of fluids, such as water to keep yourself hydrated. Try to avoid taking any medicine on your own to manage diarrhea and consult your doctor if the symptom gets worse.

Dizziness Or Drowsiness

Try to rest and relax and get enough sleep. Try to avoid driving or operating any tools or machines while you are feeling dizzy. Limit your consumption of alcohol, as it can aggravate your dizziness. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.

Indigestion

Try to reduce your consumption of tea, coffee, cola or alcohol and lose weight if you are obese. Avoid smoking and do not eat three to four hours before going to bed. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.

Nausea And Vomiting

Try to take DONANCE 10 TABLET with or just after a meal or a snack. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating rich or spicy food. Consult your doctor if the symptom gets worse.

Tiredness

Make sure you take rest and drink plenty of fluids. Avoid or limit the consumption of alcohol. Try to take DONANCE 10 TABLET at a time when you can sit down (or lie down) when the symptoms are at their worst. Try not to drive or use tools or machinery until you feel well.

  • Antibiotics (Ex. clarithromycin, erythromycin, levofloxacin, moxifloxacin, rifampicin)
  • Anti-fungal agents (Ex. ketoconazole)
  • other medicines used to manage Alzheimer’s disease (Ex. galantamine)
  • medicines used for arthritis (Ex. aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) drugs such as ibuprofen, or diclofenac sodium)
  • anticholinergics medicines (Ex. tolterodine)
  • anticonvulsants (Ex. phenytoin, carbamazepine)
  • Cardiac drugs (Ex. quinidine, beta-blockers such as propanolol and atenolol)
  • muscle relaxants (Ex. diazepam, succinylcholine)
  • general anesthetics (Ex. propofol, ketamine, thiopental)
  • medicines obtained without a prescription (Ex. herbal remedies)

If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of DONANCE 10 TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdose are feeling and being sick, drooling, sweating, slow heart rate, low blood pressure (lightheadedness or dizziness when standing), breathing problems, losing consciousness and seizures (fits) or convulsions.
