Introduction About DAIAGON RC ORAL SUSPENSION

DAIAGON RC ORAL SUSPENSION is a combination of Ofloxacin and Racecadotril which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics and Antidiarrheals respectively. It is used in infants and in children (aged 3 months or above) to manage acute infectious diarrhea (including blood-stained watery stools).

It is mostly used when other measures cannot control diarrhea effectively. While taking this medicine, make that your child drinks plenty of water, fruit juices or electrolytes (ORS) and follow the usual dietary measures recommended by your doctor to achieve better results.

DAIAGON RC ORAL SUSPENSION must be taken for the stipulated duration as instructed by your doctor to achieve better results. Failing to complete the full course of the therapy or skipping doses in between the therapy may not result in adequate infection control.

Talk to your doctor before administering this medicine to your child, if your child has any problem in their liver or kidneys. You must also inform your doctor if your child has diabetes or prolonged or uncontrollable vomiting as a precaution.

The most common side effects of taking DAIAGON RC ORAL SUSPENSION are nausea, flatulence, skin rashes, cough, tendon pain and headache. Consult your doctor if any of these side effect troubles your child.

Uses Of DAIAGON RC ORAL SUSPENSION

  • Manage acute infectious diarrhea in children (aged 3 months or above)

How DAIAGON RC ORAL SUSPENSION Works

DAIAGON RC ORAL SUSPENSION contains two medicines, namely ofloxacin and racecadotril. Ofloxacin is an antibiotic. It kills the susceptible bacteria that causes gut infection. Racecadotril is an antidiarrheal medicine. It reduces hypersecretion of water and electrolytes within the intestines. This reduces fluid loss from the body in the form of diarrhoea. Collectively, this medicine helps in managing acute infectious diarrhea.

How to use DAIAGON RC ORAL SUSPENSION

Administer DAIAGON RC ORAL SUSPENSION to your child as advised by your physician.

For Syrup and Suspension: Shake the medicine well before use. Measure the required quantity of the medicine in the measuring cup provided with the pack and make your child consume it immediately.

For Dry syrup: Shake the bottle well to loosen the dry powder. Slowly add the sterile water provided with the pack up to the mark on the bottle and shake well. Add more water (boiled and cooled) if necessary to adjust the volume up to the mark. Measure the required quantity of the medicine in the measuring cup provided with the pack and make your child consume it immediately. Store the medicine in the refrigerator between 2-8? after consumption.

Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for your child based on their age, body weight and disease condition.
