D FAX 100 TABLET contains Desvenlafaxine which belongs to the group of medicines called Antidepressants. It is used in adults to manage major depressive disorder. Major depressive disorder (also known as clinical depression) is a mental health disorder characterized by persistant depressed mood, lack of interest, feeling of guilt, sleep disturbances or sucidial thoughts for a prolonged period (more than 2 weeks) that causes significant impairment in performing day-to-day activities.
Take D FAX 100 TABLET for the stipulated duartion mentioned by your doctor. Although, you might feel improvement in your condition after 2 weeks of therapy with D FAX 100 TABLET, it may take several weeks for D FAX 100 TABLET to deliver complete benefits. Therefore, continue to take D FAX 100 TABLET for the stipulated duration recommended by your doctor even if you feel better during the midway of the therapy.
Before taking D FAX 100 TABLET, inform your doctor if you have high blood fat levels or any liver, kidney or heart problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have or have a family history of bipolar disorder, mania or epilepsy. Do not take D FAX 100 TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding without consulting your doctor.
Talk to your doctor if you are currently taking other antidepressant medicines (such as monoamine oxidase inhibitors (Ex. isocarboxazid, phenelzine and tranylcypromine)) while taking D FAX 100 TABLET. You must also inform your doctor if you have taken any antidepressant (especially monoamine oxidase inhibitor) within the last 14 days.
D FAX 100 TABLET may make you feel dizzy or sleepy. Therefore, do not drive or operate any heavy tools or machines that requires complete concentration.
Other side effects might include decreased sex drive, increased sweating, constipation, and dry mouth. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects worsen. Constipation

Interactions
A. Drug-Drug interactions:
Before taking D FAX 100 TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines such as:
- other medicines used to manage depression such as monoamine oxidase inhibitors (Ex. moclobemide, isocarboxazid, phenelzine and tranylcypromine), tricyclic antidepressants (Ex. amitriptyline, nortriptyline), lithium, fluoxetine, sertraline, citalopram, escitalopram etc.
- linezolid (an antibiotic used to manage bacterial infection)
- intravenous methylene blue (used to manage abnormal methemoglobin levels in blood)
- medicines used to manage migraine headaches (such as sumatriptan, zolmitriptan)
- fentanyl (an opioid analgesic used for pain relief)
- tramadol (used for pain relief)
- tryptophan (an aminoacid used for maintaing mental health)
- buspirone (a medicine used to reduce anxiety)
