CLOMIC F OINMENT is a combination of Clobetasol and Fusidic acid which belongs to the group of medicines called Corticosteroids and Antibiotics respectively. It is used to manage skin infections such as impetigo (crusty and swollen patch on the skin with pus), psoriasis (itching), eczema, or dermatitis. It can also be used to manage cuts and wounds which are infected.
Eczema or dermatitis is a term for several different types of skin swelling that cause dry, itchy skin and rashes on the face, elbows, behind the knees, and on the hands and feet.
During course of the management your doctor might regularly examine your skin to avoid any unwanted side effects.
Avoid smoking while using CLOMIC F OINMENT. Consult your doctor before using the medicine.
CLOMIC F OINMENT is not recommended for use in children (ages less than 1 year). Before using CLOMIC F OINMENT, inform your doctor if you have skin conditions like acne, rosacea, perioral dermatitis, viral or fungal skin infections, blisters caused by any infection, or if you are using it on your child.
CLOMIC F OINMENT should be used with caution in pregnant women. CLOMIC F OINMENT is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women.
The most common side effect of using CLOMIC F OINMENT is skin irritation. Contact your doctor if any of the side effects worsen.

How CLOMIC F OINMENT Works
CLOMIC F OINMENT manages skin infection where Clobetasol induces certain proteins (lipocortins), that control the production of inflammatory mediators like prostaglandins and leukotrienes, thus controlling inflammation, and Fusidic acid works against the bacteria by interfering with their protein synthesis.
How to use CLOMIC F OINMENT
Use CLOMIC F OINMENT as directed by the physician. It is for external use only. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the medicine. Check the label for directions before use. Your doctor will decide the right dose depends on the age, body weight and disease condition.

- burning or irritation
- raised bumps with pus under the skin

- irritation at application site (pain, burning, itching, stinging and skin redness)

- have viral infections like cold sores, herpes, or chicken pox
- have fungal infections like ringworm, athletes foot, or thrush
- have skin blisters or sores
Before taking CLOMIC F OINMENT, inform your doctor if you:
- are going to apply the medicine under an airtight dressing, like a child’s nappy
- have psoriasis

Take special care if you are going to use CLOMIC F OINMENT near your eyes. Do not smoke or go near flames as it may cause severe burns. Cloth that has been in contact with this medicine burns more easily and is a serious fire hazard. Consult your doctor in case of any concerns.
What if I accidently get CLOMIC F OINMENT in my eye?
If you accidentally get CLOMIC F OINMENT in your eye, immediately wash it out with cold water. Then wash your eye with eyewash if possible. You may feel stinging in your eye. If you begin to have any problems with your sight or your eye is hurting, contact your doctor immediately.
Can I stop using CLOMIC F OINMENT?
Do not stop using CLOMIC F OINMENT unless your doctor advises you to stop. If you have any more doubts regarding the use of this medicine, ask your doctor.
What if I forget to apply a dose of CLOMIC F OINMENT?
If you forget to apply a dose of CLOMIC F OINMENT, do it as soon as you remember. However, omit the missed dose if it is almost time for the next dose. Do not use the medicine twice to make up for a forgotten dose.
Can CLOMIC F OINMENT be used on infants?
No. CLOMIC F OINMENT is not recommended for children (below 1 year of age). Your doctor will decide the correct dose or select a suitable alternative therapy for your child.
Can CLOMIC F OINMENT be used in breastfeeding?
Before using CLOMIC F OINMENT, inform your doctor if you are breast-feeding, or are planning to do so. CLOMIC F OINMENT is not recommended for use during breast feeding. If you do use it when breast-feeding, do not apply it on your breast area so that the baby does not accidentally ingest the medicine.
