What is CINTODAC?
- CINTODAC contains Cinitapride and Pantoprazole
- Cinitapride belongs to a group of medicines called gastroprokinetic agents
- Pantoprazole belongs to a group of medicines called proton pump inhibitor
What CINTODAC is used for?
It is used to manage
- Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
- Functional Gastrointestinal Motility Disorders (slow gastric emptying)
- Zollinger-Ellison-Syndrome
- duodenal and stomach ulcers caused by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs, for example, ibuprofen)
- acid-related diseases of the stomach and intestine

Talk to your doctor before taking CINTODAC if you:
- are allergic to CINTODAC or any other ingredients of this medicine
- had a history of gastrointestinal bleeding, mechanical obstruction or perforation, movement disorder
- have heart problem
- have Vitamin B12 deficiency
- get a rash on your skin, especially in areas exposed to the sun
- have severe liver problems
- If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
- Consult your doctor for the use of CINTODAC in children
- CINTODAC may make you feel dizzy or drowsy. If they affect you in this way do not drive, operate machinery or do anything that requires you to be alert
Tell your doctor if you are taking medicines such as:
- phenothiazine, medicines used to manage schizophrenia
- digoxin, medicines used to manage heart problems
- anticholinergic drugs used to manage asthma and Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- opioid analgesics used to manage pain
- ketoconazole, itraconazole and posaconazole (used to manage fungal infections) or erlotinib (used for certain types of cancer)
- atazanavir, medicines used to manage HIV infection
- warfarin and phenprocoumon, which affect the thickening, or thinning of the blood
- methotrexate used to manage rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and cancer
- fluvoxamine used to manage depression and other psychiatric diseases
- rifampicin used to manage infections
- Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
- This medicine can be swallowed with a whole glass of water
- Do not crush or chew this medicine
If you take more CINTODAC
- If you take too many CINTODAC or if someone else has taken your medicine, talk to your doctor immediately and you may need medical attention
If you forget to take CINTODAC
- If you have forgotten to take your CINTODAC take them as soon as possible on the same day. Do not take a double dose
If you stop taking CINTODAC
- Do not stop taking CINTODAC without talking to your doctor first
Like all medicines, this medicine may cause some side effects, although not everybody gets them.
- allergic reactions marked by swelling of the tongue and/or throat, difficulty in swallowing, hives (nettle rash), difficulties in breathing, allergic facial swelling, severe dizziness with very fast heartbeat and heavy sweating
- benign polyps in the stomach
- headache, dizziness
- diarrhea, feeling sick, vomiting, vomiting blood, bloating and flatulence (wind)
- constipation
- dry mouth,
- increase in liver enzymes
- abdominal pain and discomfort, skin rash, exanthema, eruption, itching, feeling weak, exhausted or generally unwell, sleep disorders, fracture in the hip, wrist or spine
- distortion or complete lack of the sense of taste
- blurred vision
- weight changes
- swelling of the extremities (peripheral oedema)
- depression
- breast enlargement in males, increase in bilirubin
- increased fat levels in blood; sharp drop in circulating granular white blood cells associated with high fever
- an increase in bilirubin
- disorientation
- abnormal reduction in the number of red and white blood cells, as well as platelets which may cause you to bleed or bruise
- skin reactions such as rash, pruritus
- gynecomastia
- very occasionally angioedema
- Keep this medicine out of reach of children
- Do not use this medicine after the expiry date
- Store at room temperature (15-25ºC)
