Introduction About CHYMOWIN DBR TABLET

CHYMOWIN DBR TABLET is a combination of Bromelain, Rutoside, Trypsin and Diclofenac which belongs to the group of medicines called Proteases, Flavonoids, Proteolytic enzymes and Analgesics respectively. It is used in the management of pain and inflammation associated with rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, sports injuries, tooth extraction. CHYMOWIN DBR TABLET is also used to manage post-surgical inflammation and helps in wound healing and has an anti-scarring effect.

Prior to starting the management with CHYMOWIN DBR TABLET, your doctor might want you to take up several diagnostic tests to understand the existing condition.

CHYMOWIN DBR TABLET is not recommended for use in patients having kidney or liver disorders, high blood pressure, bleeding or clotting disorders, blood in vomiting or urine and infection. It should be taken with caution in patients who have heart disease.

CHYMOWIN DBR TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant and breast-feeding women. There is no data on the use of CHYMOWIN DBR TABLET in children and elderly patients hence, caution must be exercised while taking this medicine. Always, consult with your doctor before taking it.

The most common side effects of taking CHYMOWIN DBR TABLET are nausea, loss of appetite, headache, diarrhoea and flatulence. Consult with your doctor if any of these worsen or doesn’t improve.

How CHYMOWIN DBR TABLET Works

CHYMOWIN DBR TABLET helps in managing pain and inflammation associated with various conditions where bromelain is a protease enzyme which decreases inflammation by inhibiting the substances that are responsible for it called proinflammatory prostaglandins. It also influences blood clotting by increasing the activity of a protein called fibrinogen. Rutoside is a flavonoid that works by enhancing the strength of blood vessels and decreases their ability to break down. Diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug which acts by stopping the release of certain chemicals called prostaglandins which is responsible for the occurrence of pain and inflammation.

How to use CHYMOWIN DBR TABLET

Take CHYMOWIN DBR TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine as a whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of CHYMOWIN DBR TABLET for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

Side Effects Of CHYMOWIN DBR TABLET

  • indigestion or heartburn
  • allergic reactions (signs include sudden wheeziness, difficulty in breathing, swelling of the face, lips, hands or fingers, skin rash, itching, bruising, painful red areas, peeling or blistering)
  • chest pain (sign of a potentially serious allergic reaction called Kounis syndrome)

How To Manage Side Effects

Diarrhea

Drink lot of fluids such as water or fruit juices to keep yourself hydrated. Avoid taking any medicine on your own for managing diarrhea. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.

Headache

Rest and relax. Drink plenty of fluids such as water or electrolytes. Apply a pain-relieving balm on the forehead if required. Do not consume too much of alcohol. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.

Nausea And Vomiting

Try to take CHYMOWIN DBR TABLET with or just after a meal or a snack. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oil rich, fried or spicy foods. Do not lie down or sleep immediately after eating. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.
